When you know when superglue won't old, this plastic welder kit will help give you options. It's pretty intuitive to use -- I didn't even read the directions. But, be careful that the heated staplers can easily and quickly melt through plastic, so a light touch and gradual heat is best until you get the hang of it. I was able to salvage a refrigerator door shelf that my wife shattered after dropping a 3-pound block of cheese on it. I first superglued the broken piece together, and then used the plastic welder for added rigidity. I think it's stronger than before and is now holding several half-gallon cartons of milk. I also tried it on a ripped tupperware lid -- the result was better than glue, but it wasn't so great since the plastic lid has too much flex to it. The biggest issue is that the metal staple protrusions are difficult to trim very close to the surface, so you'll feel some sharp points in those areas. Read more
