My parents are in their late 80's and still living on their own. I watched my mom struggle with her old clunky vacuum cleaner and decided to give her an upgrade for her birthday. I purchased this Viafly convertible stick vacuum and she is very happy with it! This is lighter in weight than her old plug-in vacuum, so it is much easier for her to use. She really likes the fact that she can convert this from a floor vacuum to a hand-held vacuum. The modular construction means she gets the benefits of several vacuum devices just by changing the configuration. There are 2 brush head attachments that let you suck up dust and crumbs, a flat wide nozzle which is perfect for pet hair, and a long extension tube that can be used with each of the attachments to extend their length. The kit also includes 2 HEPA filters so the vacuum does not just spread dust around but removes it. This vacuum features 40,000pa suction (the "pa" refers to pascals, which is a unit of suction measurement), which is pretty high performance. The motor provides great suction and it does a really nice job tackling all her needs. There are 3 suction levels that can be adjusted from the LED panel at the top of the vacuum, with a digital readout so she knows how much remaining cleaning time is available. The brush head features a lighted, powered roller bar, so it picks up dirt as well as sucks it up into the dirt reservoir. The roller in the brush head is v-shaped rather than a traditional shape, so it does not just wrap hair and fibers around the brush. It is very easy to clean which was a big selling point for me: I did not want to give my mom a tool that generated additional work. The size of this vacuum is perfect. She can easily vacuum the carpet, slide it under furniture, and it is very easy to empty. She gets several days daily use out of the battery and it is easy to recharge. I mounted the included wall mount in her closet, so she can recharge it just by hanging it up out of the way. The dirt collection empties very easily with just a press of a latch. I use it for small cleanups like getting under the table after dinner and between the couch cushions. It works well enough for me. Its suction isn't the best And the battery doesn't last very long but it's very easy to use and clean out. It's very light. vacuum on the handle holds the most weight. It feels a little awkward when standing it up but it does stand fine. Read more

This vacuum SUCKS. The battery doesn’t last. In 30 seconds it is already down to 95 and within 3 minutes it’s down to 70. This is on the middle suction. Even though it does go down fast on low speed as well. I can’t even get 2 regular size bedrooms done. Read more
1. I bought a viafly vacuum for myself and was extremely pleased with its function and easy use... 2. I bought a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law and it didn't work. I was showing error messages. I Googled it and it was the battery, but I put my 100% charged battery in and it still didn't work. So it was returned. I reordered and the new one came without any issues.
