Overall, this is a good outfit, but with a bit of modification, it became a great costume. Good stuff: -The fit was true to the size listing and fit me perfect (I bought size large. I'm 6'2" and have crazy long arms). -The fabric is heavy duty, well above expectations for a costume. I think this will last many ren-fests and other costume parties. -The buttons are sturdy and look great. - The color and general look was very accurate to the picture. - The pieces worked great together and really look like a full set. Fixable: - My biggest gripe is that the hems for the pants are not gathered. I fixed this by cutting little slits on the inside of the lower hems and threading a ribbon through them so I could sinch them tight. In my opinion, this transformed it from costume-y looking, to theatrical. - Get out your iron and be gentle. There are deep creases going everywhere and the fringe was sticking up in many spots, making it look cheaper than it is. These can be ironed out with patience and care. - The cravat is garbage. I bought a separate one and it was fantastic - The cuffs won't stay on. I safety pinned them into the sleeves so the would stay up. With that, I think they look great. Absolutely brilliant. I was so happy to have received this garment that is very well made wiht quality polyester textile that can be easily ironed! It made a great impression when just the top waistcoat and jacket were worn as a Jacobite Clan Chief at an 18 century event in France. It is great value for the money and very comfortable to wear. I was pleased with the quality of the costume. My son needed it for a living history project at school. I was worried I would have to do a lot of alterations and surprised that it mostly fit. It was big on him but nothing that I needed to really worry about. This will fit him for a while. I only had to take in the ascot and the white cuffs because he is only 11, 4ft 9in and weighs 90lbs. We rolled the top of the pants and that was it. It is definitely a men's x-sm/sm. But the ones for children didn't look as good. Again, I am very pleased with this one. Read more
