Fine Product, but Defective 95% of the Time
This eyeliner from Cover Girl is a fine product, but definitely not great. Unfortunately the quality mirrors the cheap price since, about 95% of the times i ordered it, the eyeliner is defective in some way.. Sometimes the density is different, making it hard to apply. Sometimes it’s too soft and crumbs more. This time it is so defective, i can’t even use it. There is a split all the way through the eyeliner. So, when I sharpen it, there is a gap/split all the way through the tip. So, each side ends up breaking. So easy solution is to simply return and get a replacement right? Well, no.. first off, if this one is defective, and i commonly receive these defective, how can i rely on the new one being appropriate quality?? Also, Amazon wants me to return this one, although it’s used. My nearest available drop off point for Amazon is 10-15 miles away, it takes more to drive there than this is worth. So, i’m stuck fumbling with what I received. The quality is VERY inconsistent!! When not defective, the eyeliner itself is soft. I like that as it’s easier to apply. I only use this for my top lids and I appreciate that it gilds on easily enough. It can smudge REALLY easily. To prevent this, i use eyeshadow primer on my lids. This helps it stay nice longer. I also apply setting powder to my upper eye area, between my lids and eyebrows. If you want blendablity, this is nice for that. Also color quality is nice. It has a rich dark brown color. This is NOT waterproof. It’s hardly water resistant.. i wouldn’t recommend this if you’re wanting waterproof or all day longevity out of your eyeliner. This lasts about a half day before needing to reapply it. Overall, i would recommend this considering the performance is decent for the inexpensive price. However, considering i keep receiving defective products, i do not recommend this product.. such a shame that there is so little attention to quality control.. Thanks for reading! Read more
