No Regrets...

This seems to be a "love or hate" product when you read the reviews. For me... Not having nut drivers was no big deal. The listing didn't offer them and I already have them. I bought the set for what it was, ratcheting screw driver with phillips, straight, hex head, square head and torx tips. There was also mention of "not fitting in the case". But, if you released the extension from it's first position, it drops into the handle and easily fits in the case. I did not like how the magnetic wand fit in the extension and after reading a review that mentioned how a person solved the "not fitting in the case" issue, I did exactly what the reviewer described. I removed the ratchet head and the lock ring that prevented the extension from coming out of the handle. (See the first photo). Now the extension comes out of handle and the magnetic wand fits into the handle without the extension. Please know, if you do this, the extension slides out easily, when not locked into one of the length settings. This may have been why the ring was put on, so that certain users wouldn't complain about the extension "falling out". For me, this is exactly how I wanted the screw driver to be, so I'm happy and thank that reviewer. As to tips not directly fitting into the ratchet head and falling into the handle.... that hasn't been the case with this one. The second photo shows the PH3 tip that came with the set, sitting directly in the ratchet head. The tip is seated and will not push through. The only difference between being directly in the ratchet head vs. the extension, is that it fits a little looser (as the ratchet head is not magnetized like the extension). I did not expect the magnetic wand to be as strong as it is. There is pic that shows my car keys, 4 feet in the air, with the extension bending slightly under the weight of them. This pick up also paid for the set by retrieving an oil plug that fell into the drain pan during an oil change. The thing I find weird with the screwdriver, is that the extension does not lock in when seated all the way in against the ratchet head. It has to be extended to the first notch to be locked in. This is why it doesn't fit the case, unless it is released. This is shown in the third photo. But, as I can remove the extension and use the ratchet head directly, it doesn't matter to me. For the price, it ratchets in both directions, locks to become a solid driver and is comfortable in the hand. There are multiple tips, telescoping magnetic pick up and case. For what I've done with it, it's been great and should be even better when I magnetize the ratchet head. Read more

Great kit!

A rock solid value in a well designed quality tool. I really like how the driver shaft extends and locks in three positions for added versatility. The ratcheting mechanism is easy to operate and has a smooth ,fine action. I like the zippered canvas case and the fact that there is some room to add a few extras if you like. The bit selection is pretty good but you may want to add extras or something else and there is room in the case for that. I added a 1/4 inch socket adaptor and 12 1/4 in sockets with six each in metric and SAE. The included extendable magnet attachment may come in handy also. Overall a great tool as a stand alone purchase and also nice to use as the basis for a small packable kit. I would recommend and buy again. Read more

Good screwdriver, meh case

LS RossiJuly 31, 2025✓ Verified purchase

Good quality for the price. Ended up not needing it, because we found the old screwdriver not ten minutes before this was delivered lol; but, I’m keeping it as it’s never a bad idea to have multiple screwdrivers around the house. I’ve used the telescopic magnet more than the screwdriver itself (been putting a new bedroom suit together). Note: the screwdriver is too tall for the case that comes with it. It will fit in the case to zip it closed, but not if you try to zip it shut with the screwdriver in its “assigned place”. The telescopic magnet and different sized heads fit perfectly in their places, however. Read more

Works great for me

I am happy with this set. I don't need a screw driver often enough to mess with an electric version. Pretty simple to use. I don't know that I will use most of the bits but that's typical. The magnet holds the bit in place very nicely with no/very little play. The ratcheting mechanism works great both ways. I used it for a big project and was glad to have it. I use it with "TankBond" to get good grip on the screw head and everything went together with ease and my hand didn't hurt! People complain about the handle not fitting in the case but it does. The zipper has a good inch or so to go around just fine. The bigger issue is digging the zipper pull out of the spine. I dont love the elastic that holds the handle in so i stopped trying to fight it and just set the handle in. Theres enough space to keep a small tube of TankBond in the kit so it's always handy. Good value and I'm sure I'll have this set a long time. Read more

Nice ratcheting screwdriver set

Everyone likes to hate on Craftsman these days and for good reason in some cases. I still like a lot of the Craftsman products; this one included. It comes with a decent variety of bits and best the part is the telescoping magnetic bit holder. It locks into three different lengths for whatever job you’re doing. When you first look at it, it appears the bit holder doesn’t fit in the case. All you do is retract the bit holder all the way down and it fits fine. I saw a video of a guy removing the bit holder from the handle because he didn’t think it fit in the case. WARRANTY - Keep the model/part number somewhere you won’t forget. I keep the packaging with that information in the case along with where it says Lifetime warranty. Craftsman doesn’t put part numbers on a lot of their hand tools anymore. If you need to file a claim, you’ll need to be able to tell them what broke. I filed a claim a few weeks ago on a different bit holder (don’t expose the handle to glass cleaner…it gets sticky) and they sent a whole new kit to me. Without me telling them what kit I had, it might have turned into a cluster. Craftsman tried to tell me a tool I bought in the 80’s was not under warranty. Surprisingly, I had the packaging for it and sent them a picture where it said lifetime warranty next to the tool number. They replaced it. Read more
