Excellent pre-shave - the advantage of this one is that it doesn't leave a greasy or oily film, just rinses off. This becomes important when you pick up that Darwin razor, with absolutely NO purchase on the completely smooth, polished art deco handle, and a Feather blade in it. Trust me when I say you won't want to be twirling this around your face (or legs) with a seal-slick grip - you won't need to use alum on your fingers just to hold your razor. This is your pre-shave of choice. Doesn't sacrifice much in the way of added smoothness to your shave either- a clear gel that applies easily underneath your lather as a lubricating base, and also seems to have a soothing effect on your skin, with a very pleasant, slightly citrusy scent. Having tried a variety of pre-shave oils and creams in my wet shaving experience, I have to give this gel top marks. Nothing has provided quite the desired end result the way this concoction has. Light, slick, moist, and easy to dispense, this product gives your razor the path of least resistance as it glides over the coarsest beards and most sensitive skin (like mine, lol). Read more

I've been shaving with a brush for a while, and pre-shave oils are essential to a smooth shave. I have tried a lot that disappoint- either too thin to really lubricate the blade or so thick that they gum up the razor. This oil is a perfect creation- thick enough to stay put once it is on but doesn't gum up the works or clog up my razor. I don't notice a scent if it has one, either. I have been using it for over 3 months now, plenty left in the bottle but when it is gone, I will buy more. Read more
Let me start by saying I shave my head with a safety razor every other day so maybe that's part of it. I have used all sorts of pre-shave oils, creams, lotions, in an attempt to find what works best for me and I can confidently say it's not this. It really just feels like I'm putting slightly thick, gooey water on my head, which isn't really what I am looking for. A couple of my favorites thus far are Dove Men+Care Expert Shave Exfoliating Pre-Shave Scrub and Edwin Jagger Hydrating Pre Shave Lotion. Use these in combination and you can't go wrong. I like applying this on before every shave on my face and on my head im not to sure how much of a difference it makes but it seems to cause less irritation when I use it, It works much better with a cream or soap that you lather yourself vs something out of a can or tube in my opinion and it last a very long time a little goes a long way Read more
