This is a great SSD for the PS5. The physical installation was straightforward upon booting up the PS5 after installation, you are prompted to format the hard drive. The formatting process is very fast. I was unable to transfer games from the main SSD to this expansion SSD. I was completely blown away how fast games were able to transfer. Read more

I have loved these drives. Before all the AI-related chaos, they were a great value for the performance you get. This drive has been very reliable in my system and performs exactly as advertised. If you do manage to pick one up, it is a great choice for a fast desktop or laptop setup. Here is hoping Micron brings Crucial back to consumers someday. Until then, this one has been excellent. This SSD is insanely fast. Coming from a Gen4 drive, the difference is noticeable in boot times, file transfers, and loading large programs. Everything just feels instant. Installation was simple and it worked perfectly with my Gen5 motherboard right away. Just make sure you have a proper heatsink because it can run warm under heavy use.
