I bought this 20‑pack of Crystaljun plastic kazoos for my music class, and it’s been a total win. These kazoos are lightweight but still feel solid—perfect for handing out to a bunch of people. The fact that it comes with 20 extra diaphragms is clutch, because those little membranes wear out over time, and this way you don’t have to toss the kazoo after a few uses. I’ve tested a few, and they buzz well when you hum properly. The variety of colors makes it fun and easy to tell who’s using which one. The plastic is sturdy, and they’re safe enough for kids (or rowdy adults). If you just want a bunch of kazoos for a party, classroom, or some goofy jam session, these are fantastic. Great little fun gifts for people celebrating birthdays, promotions, or just for fun! These could new used to create a kazoo band with tubing and funnels to make each creation more fun and fabulous! We do birthday celebrations at work about every month and inevitably it is tough to get adults to sing the happy birthday song. BUT, once I bought everyone kazoos, they happily join in, even humming out loudly. Great purchase for a good price. Read more
I bought these kazoos to include in Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes that are sent to kids around the world through Samaritan’s Purse. I thought that I had to install the little cellophane discs that came with the kazoos, but I couldn’t pry them open to insert the discs. My husband said that they were spares, and that cellophane discs were already installed. I was very relieved, because I couldn’t see how kids in third world countries would be able to pry them open to insert the discs. If those discs tear or break, the kazoos will be useless to the kids. HUM INTO IT, DON’T BLOW and then LOOSEN THE PLASTIC MEMBRANE: So when I first opened the packages, they did not make any noises. I got confused and annoyed until I saw a video about how to make the work. 1) You need to HUM and vibrate the membrane by humming into the larger end. If you dont hear anything then….. 2) You have to PRY open the spout of the kazoo and gently massage /loosen the plastic membrane so that it vibrates more. (try not to tear or break the plastic membrane. After that - they should all work. I think the membranes are all a little bit too new and flat, which is why they don’t make a lot of noise at the beginning…. But once you massage and loosen that plastic membrane , it does work!
