I have a dairy allergy and like a frozen dessert treat. The new non-dairy options at the grocery store are great, just super expensive. I got this setup with an extra freezer bowl to do two flavor batches back to back. It works great. I can mix up whatever non-dairy options I have (soy, almond, coconut) on-hand. I keep the freezer bowls in my chest freezer in the garage. The machine is not as loud as I expected after reading all the reviews. It does get louder as it freezes the goods. That makes sense because the machine is working harder. I've done multiple flavor batches back-to-back and it works great. The motor base fits in the cabinet about the stove. I am happy with it. Easy to clean when I'm done. Remember not to touch the metal bowl with wet fingers when you take it out of the freezer. Read more

We have used it many times since buying and it makes creamy, delicious ice cream every time! We've added fruits, nuts and cookie dough and it's perfect every time. We really love that it came with 2 freezer drums so I can make a second batch while the first drum is refreezing. A couple of people griped about the noise (not sure why it's a big deal) so I will say it does make noise while churning, but doesn't bother us. It doesn't take long to have a yummy batch to eat! I was concerned, I had seen a video where it didn't freeze the mixture in 30 mins. this machine works exactly as advertised I have made 6 quarts of ice cream, in the last two days, and it is working flawlessly! This ice cream maker makes ice cream that is the consistency of soft serve. When you get down to the bottom it freezes the ice cream to the freezer bowl. I have a very ridged spatula that I use to scrap the freezer bowl. If you find one, be careful that it won’t scratch the bowl. I’ve read reviews that said that the paddle is very flimsy and easy to break. If you are careful, you should not have a problem. I purchased an extra freezer bowl so that there is always one in the freezer. Read more

I previously used Cuisinart's 1 quart ice cream maker that works really well - except I think that the bowl is too small because the ice cream starts overflowing at the end. So, I bought this 1.5 quart model and now that I've used it a few times I can say that it seems to chill the ice cream quicker than the older 1-quart model. The only nit picking I can do is to say that it's not as big as I thought it would be because the ice cream comes all the way up to the top of the 1.5 quart bowl. I had imagined that the would have much more room since it's 50% bigger. The paddle is a pain to clean, but all things considered, I highly recommend this ice cream maker. Read more
