I had a couple similar (and more expensive) pillows by Lucid. They were great and lasted several years but lately I found myself waking up with a stiff neck. I searched for the Lucid pillows and either they're out of stock or not made anymore. I was hesitant about this because while it looks similar we all know that doesn't mean it IS similar. I actually like this more than the Lucid pillows. I like a more firm pillow and this is medium firm. I also really like the cover. I don't even put a pillowcase on it. I prefer the cover it comes with. It's very soft and smooth and stays cooler. Most importantly, I wake up without a stiff neck. Whenever it's time to replace I hope I can find this pillow again. This pillow is super soft and so comfortable to lay down on! I have had one for a while and it has kept it shape, even through travel and being cramped in tight spaces. This pillow is definitely worth the investment. Read more
The first thing I want to address in this review is the many other reviews saying "do not buy" because it never expands when you remove it from its vacuum bag. I was worried whenever I opened it and waited a few hours and saw almost no expansion, so I looked to the reviews. I saw many 1 stars saying that it never expands, but I found one review that says you just need to put it in the dryer for a few cycles on low heat and it will expand. This solution worked perfectly for me. This pillow is slightly stiffer than some other memory foam pillows that I have had, which I like. I also love the pillowcase, as it almost has a silky cool feeling. As for the smell, it is slight but does not last long. The reason for the 4 stars is just that when you remove it from the case and look at the bare pillow, the production quality doesn't look great and it just looks like a very ugly finished product, though that has no impact on its functionality, of course. I got this for an unusual reason. I won't be sleeping on it. I'll be sitting on it as I am right now. I'll explain. I've broken my tail bone twice. First time I was 12, second time I was 37. I have several seat cushions that have a cut out for the tail bone and they help make the sensitivity easier to deal with. Then I fell twice this year (2025). The first time was on Jan 1st and the second time was on my birthday in February. No there was no alcohol involved! Don't have that as an excuse. The fall on the first was bad. It's August and I'm starting to think I'll never fully recover. After the second fall (which was outside while getting an Amazon package), I wrenched my knees trying not to fall. I developed insomnia and was a miserable mess. I got a set of 6 wedges to use in bed (I only use 3 of them). The set I picked out had a piece of foam that claimed to provide support for the hips. It didn't. The wedges are hard and the ones that are supposed to be used for the knees made them hurt more. I was expecting soft but firm memory foam. This pillow is the last piece I've been needing. I've been using a cooling pillow to sit on, but the the demensions are wrong. It's too long and too narrow, but the thickness is great. It has helped. I feel like I'm going to slide off it and land on my bum every time I get up. The cooling pillow case is very slick. I have bought several pillows since I fell. I have a pillow that reminds you of a butterfly, 2 cooling pillows (a queen size and a body pillow) that have gel infused memory foam. The butterfly pillow is great to hold my head up on the large wedge. It's like having a recliner in bed. The queen and body pillows support my knees and legs (and the dog). Only now I have the soft supportive memory foam I was expecting from the wedge set. My knees have recovered as much as they can. I'm a hot sleeper and the cooling pillows are great. And this pillow is just the right size. So now I have the soft supportive "wedge" I was expecting in the wedge set. I knew it wasn't going to 5 inches thick, but it's a joke. This is the real deal! Nothing like the marketing photos. So disappointing. Very cheap material. Cloth not soft at all but almost like plastic. Should have returned but who has time to take back returns! Total waste of money in the trash. Maybe could use for a sham. Read more
