This dash cam has been a great investment for my car. The video quality is incredibly clear, both front and rear, even at night. I really like the wide-angle view and how compact it is — it doesn’t block my windshield at all. Setup was easy, and the app makes it convenient to view and download footage right to my phone. One of the best features is how it automatically locks important footage if there’s a collision. In fact, I recently captured an accident that happened right in front of me. I was able to provide the footage to local authorities, and it was clear enough to see the license plates and exactly what happened. It made a big difference in helping them sort things out quickly. I bought this to install in a car but initially used it in a moving truck as I made a final trip from Colorado to the east coast. It would be the last time I would most likely see some of the mid-west highways and landmarks of my childhood so I was enthusiastic about recording the scenery in addition to the protection the dash cam could offer. I made sure it was recording after every vehicle start up as to not miss anything as the weather and scenery was extra beautiful this time. When I arrived home, I was disappointed to discover that my SD card only contained the last half of the trip (the half I had no desire to see or archive) despite only using about 100Gb of the 256Gb card. Normally I wouldn't leave a review on a junk product but this really let me down. Also it records in separate 1 minute files which would have made it nearly impossible to archive to begin with. I replaced it with an old school camera...one that doesn't need a cell phone app and has a sensible memory-full procedure. Read more
