Great hard wire kit. This was my first time installing a dash cam (I bought the Q7 Dual 4K Dash Cam, which I am very impressed with so far). It was important for me to have surveillance when the car is parked in parking lots or over night on the street. Additionally, I didn’t like the idea of using the cigarette outlet and with a cable dangling constantly dangling around. Thus, the hard wire kit was the way to go to have a reliable and subtle installation. The kit came with a little instructional manual and a link to a YouTube video. The instructions are very detailed, clear and easy to follow for someone who has never done an installation before and outline the few things you have to pay attention to for a proper install. Initially, I was worried that the kit wouldn’t fit for the fuse box of my car, but luckily since there is 4 different types of fuse cables and fuses included, one type fit my Hyundai Elantra perfectly. I was able to completely hide the wires behind the interior trim and only about 3 inches of cable are visible to connect to the camera. Note that the attached camera (I have the N5) can be set to also take time-lapsed photography when the car is parked - be careful with this function or it may be possible to run your battery down. I ordered this to support my installation of the IIWEY N5 dashcam. Unfortunately, probably due to manufacturing tolerances, the piggy-back fuse connectors supplied would not insert into the fuse panel of my 2019 Subaru Ascent. Fortunately, I had a spare set of compatible piggy fuse connectors from another project on a previous car, and these fit perfectly. I informed the vendor of my issue, and they responded by sending me a replacement connector, which is a definite positive for future customer support, so I'm giving them 5 stars for resolving an issue that was no fault of their own. The parked collision feature appears to be working as it should. I'm hesitant to "whack" the car to see how sensitive the vibration sensor is, but all the other menu items now work as described in the manual. Not very happy so far. The unit is defective. I had it professionally installed and then an occasion popped up where we didn't drive the vehicle for a couple of days and the battery was completely drained. My first thoughts were wow the installation guys installed it wrong. So I checked behind them. Everything was wired in properly. Well the problem was that the camera would not switch into parking mode and would just record continuously 24 hours a day even when the car was off. Then as we can see the battery protection circuit didn't work. So this could only be one of two things. Either the wiring was wrong or the unit is defective. So just to troubleshoot I wired it the only other way possible... So I wired it backward. I got the exact same result. Since there's only two possible ways to wire it and both ways produce the same result, which is that none of the functions of the unit work... That it stands to reason that the unit is defective. Eye contacted customer service. I went through Amazon and Rufus suggested that I go through there customer service to finish troubleshooting instead of just jumping straight to a return or replacement. That sounded reasonable. I emailed their customer service and I described the problem thoroughly. I describe what steps I had done. I was trying to shorten any back and forth and let them know what troubleshooting steps I had taken. I sent screenshots of the camera order page and the wiring kit order page so that they would have all of the information that they needed... Model numbers, order numbers, Etc.... They waited a few days and then they emailed me back asking me to provide them with the model numbers and the order numbers. And would I please describe the issues... Of course I explained to them that I already did all of that and I copy pasted my first email back to them and I sent them the old screenshots and I took new screenshots.... They answered back after the return window had closed and then they sounded a lot less official. They just said that it's wired improperly I explained to them that it's not wired in properly and even if it were I switched the wiring and it produces the exact same result. So no matter how you slice it, something's wrong with the unit... They got snarky and told me no that's not true. They basically told me too bad. So I went back and tried to do a replacement but the return window was closed.. So I just contacted Amazon and had them give me a call and they called me right away and I talked to him and I told him everything that I'm telling you guys and they did a return for me anyway. The real gripe is that now I still have to deal with this company because I need to get another wiring kit which means that I have to take apart all of the wiring that I already did and do it all over again.
