I purchased this to mount my ROVE R2-4K Dual dashcam in my Tacoma pickup. It works quite well for that purpose. I also tried mounting the dashcam using the provided small mount that adheres to the window. That didn’t work so well as there is no adjustment in that mount for horizontal tilt of the dashcam. Once it is stuck on the windshield, you can’t change that alignment and the odds of getting it right are slim, indeed. It was close but far enough off that the slight tilt bugged me. So, I went to this rearview mirror mount, and I am totally pleased. This mounting system is solidly made. I would note that the Tacoma has a center console between the seats, making it rather challenging to get this mount in place. Two horizontal bars clamp onto the mirror arm. Those bars are held together with two small Allen head screws. With the center console, you are working from the side while the mirror is blocking your view! I happen to have a long T-handle Allen wrench of the correct size and that made the task much easier than using the provided small Allen wrench. Read more

Bought this for a Rove dash cam to mount in my Subaru Outback as the suction cup mount didn’t really work well with the vehicle’s Eyesight cameras. This mounts securely to my rear view mirror and holds the camera stable. It also provides a lot of versatility and adjustability for different vehicles. I like many others that own Dash Cams have found that the suction cup mount will work but is not ideal and worse when the weather heats up. I decide to take a chance on this rear-view mirror mounting bracket advertised on Amazon and was pleasantly surprised when I received it and it turned out to be a quality product made of metal (aluminum), and not plastic! I have read the reviews as most of making a purchase do and, one question some had was what are the extra washers for? I can only speculate but they appear to be replacement washers for the ball joints and offer different colors for aesthetics if you will. I'm not positive that's what there for, but it makes the most sense. Installation is really simple; you find the best place on your mirror to mount the device and tighten the screws around the neck of the mirror. I have included pictures from my 2016 explorer for reference, (a picture is worth a thousand words, right?) I have the R2-4K model and the lower part of the bracket slides right on to my cam and is a snug fit. I highly recommend this product, it is a game changer for those of us with Dash Cams, IYKYK.
