Had goal of finding new boxer briefs, thinking cotton or other natural blend for everyday use, to complement the synthetic travel/athletic boxer briefs that I have been very happy with: Saxx Sport Mesh Boxer Brief and the ExOfficio 6” Give-N-Go Sport 2.0 Boxer Brief. All of options I tried were size Medium. All of them fit well in the leg, leg opening, back/butt, waist. All of them had fabric that felt great. All of them looked great and appeared to be well made. So what it came down to was the pouch or hammock, meaning the ability to keep the dangling pair off of the leg (otherwise I would have ordered boxers instead of boxer briefs). And there were some big differences. Tried the following (in this order): Nike Men’s Everyday Cotton Stretch Boxer Briefs: Pouch gets a D. These often needed adjustments. I won’t be keeping these. BAMBOO COOL Men’s Underwear boxer briefs Soft Comfortable Bamboo Viscose Underwear Trunks. Pouch gets a B. These felt great, but did occasionally warrant some adjustment. Otherwise excellent, I’ll keep these. Saxx Non-Stop Stretch Cotton Boxer Brief: Pouch gets an F. Although my prior experience with Saxx products has been great, and although these say non-stop stretch, the stretch definitely stops in the pouch area. I was constantly aware of these pressing in on me, and eagerly awaited the opportunity to get out of them. Saxx DropTemp Cooling Cotton: Pouch gets a B. Still sometimes more grippy than I find comfortable, but not bad. Overall, I’d rather have to make the adjustments with the BAMBOO COOL than feel the tightness of the Saax DropTemp Cooling Cotton. DAVID ARCHY Men’s Underwear Soft Cotton-Modal Blend Boxer Briefs with Fly Boxer Shorts: Pouch gets an A-. These are basically perfect. The only thing is that the fly is horizontal instead of the classic vertical. I didn’t find that to be good or bad, but note that the classic fly has 2 layers of fabric between you and the outside world, while the horizontal design has only one layer between you and the outside world. Really liked these, and wanted to try this brand with a traditional fly, so ordered two other styles. First off, this fly design is amazing! It completely secures and covers things yet provides the easiest access of any fly I have experienced. Hopefully more companies and products move in this direction, because it's definitely the way to go! Outside of that, I'll say the material is light, breathable, and comfortable. Time will tell if there's any ride-up or not. David Archy is usually pretty good about minimizing that problem, but I'll update the review if it does become an issue. My only concern on these, and the reason I took off one star, is that the pouch is a little on the small side. I prefer pouches that let everything rest comfortably in front. With this pouch being smaller, things tend to wrap underneath and start to point in the other direction. That's not my favorite feel. If they come out with a version of this with a bit roomier pouch, I'm all in! Read more
Since our household prefers natural fibers, I ordered these in cotton and my guy loves them for their comfort and great design. The horizontal top access is also great for both right handed and left-handed individuals (unlike most men’s underwear which is designed for right handed folks). So many manufacturers seem to be using very thin cotton/materials these days so I hope they will last but will definitely re-order top opening design. Read more
These are great- very comfy, waistband doesn’t dig in, almost like wearing nothing at all. Not a very easy thing to describe: but I’ll try, the Horizontal fly, while at first I was very hesitant about it, makes “retrieval” very easy. Standing up at the urinal and doing what you have to is easier than ever before with the type of closure. I wish all my underwear had it. Hard to go back to conventional opening methods now. Really enjoying them! Sit at the ride height and fit true to size. No photos sorry. But they’re really great. Read more
Hubby loves these! He says the they stretch and move as you do, wicks away moisture, are cooling, and I think he looks really sexy in them! More importantly, he feels sexy in them! The pastel colors have a dark metallic hue that makes them look manly. Hubby’s statement was something about him appreciating having more colors to wear than the typically white, black, blue, and red. He likes them so much we’ve just ordered a second batch! I got him the first set a couple of months ago and he wears them every day. They still look and feel brand new! These may be a bit pricey, but I feel they are well worth it in terms of value. He just said he likes the way they cradle his nuggets, super easy top access no fuss go, and the material is so slippery they make his jeans fall down with no belt. He would prefer cotton designed the same way but he does love them! Read more
