The media could not be loaded. Love it love it love it. Bonus for sewing? unlike other slim line lights the actual light bar itself can be turned away or towards you for precise light aiming without moving the neck of the light if you desire. I can easily clamp this to the right side of my sewing table that's wedged up against my serging table of a slightly different height. My only space option had been to clamp a lamp onto the back of my sewing table then bring the lamp to the front where I sew and the result would be that the lights for perfect lighting would be in my direct line of vision so I had to be slightly off and put up with shadows so I'd wear those lights plumbers wear that hang around the neck...my "headlights". That is a great solution but those don't hold charge long. As the video shows this beauty gives me the light I need without any shadow and out of my line vision. Can't beat the price either. Lightweight, out of the way looks good and the brightness I need. I'm ordering another for my serging station. I don't even notice I have a lamp there while I work yet it'll bend down n over for up close work and stays in place beautifully for hand sewing areas of my work like inside waistbands. Assembly couldn't be simpler. Just pop the two pipes together and tighten the screw and done. As with sewists everywhere lighting becomes a frustrating journey and I'm so glad that I now have an option to my headlamps I wore around my neck (already wearing a tape measure lol) which I became so used to I once accidentally didn't take them off when I ran out to the store. To anyone out there? The headlights around the neck are still the answer for a cutting station with overhead lighting. Especially nice when using a rotary cutter. Read more

I bought this floor lamp to position near my sewing machine, where I'd been struggling to see when pinning fabric, matching seams etc prior to machine stitching. I could not be more pleased with the bright, clean, glare-free light. The base is very stable, the height is perfect, and I love the long, flexible neck and arm of the fixture that made it easy to position the light right where I needed it without having a lamp base on the table taking up valuable workspace. I'm planning to move this lamp to my sofa or recliner chair for when I'm hand stitching, and I think it will be fantastic over my cutting table as well. I might need to purchase an additional lamp! UPDATE - I continued to be curious so I contacted Daylight. Even though it comes in two pieces they did not design it to be taken apart on a regular basis. This doesn't change my mind about the lamp, though. I still love it!! I've had the 1st generation (incandescent) of the Daylight Slimline for many years. Since it's an incandescent bulb the 1st gen gets mighty hot. I use this lamp exclusively for needlepoint (almost always in my Lowery floor stand; sometimes with the table base) so I lean very close to it, thus it's VERY warm! The 1st generation fits perfectly in the Lowery light bar and locks in tight so i put up with the heat. I was excited when Daylight came out with the 2nd generation with LED bulbs and immediately ordered one. While it's amazing quality (like all Daylight lamps) it doesn't fit in my light bar (the base is different), nor did it fit tightly in the clamp that came with the lamp or the table base i have. It wobbled so I couldn't use it and went back to the old one. When I saw the 3rd generation I took the chance and ordered it (knowing I could return it to Amazon) and it's perfect! It fits in the light bar just as tight as the original. As a bonus, they've redesigned the clamp and it fits super tight there as well. And since it's all metal (I got the brushed steel model) there's no danger of the clamp warping like one with plastic parts (if it does I have bigger problems than a wobbly light...). In addition to fitting in my Lowery, this lamp is in two pieces - the lamp itself and the lower part. While I'm not sure it's designed to take apart on a regular basis (that's a question for Daylight), if it is that will make transport and storage much easier. The other new feature is the 3rd generation is dim-able so you can set the brightness to suit your needs and the ambient light in the room. I can't recommend this lamp enough!! Read more

I do like the brightness of this lamp. I was excited to find a floor lamp like my DayLight SlimLine 3 desk lamp. However, there are 2 things that I find need improvement. 1. This version 4 has a plastic sleeve type covering over the bulbs, which might be there to diffuse lighting, but I find it softens the light TOO much for a crafting area. 2. The on/off switch must be pushed in to respond, unlike the SlimLine 3 which is a touch sensitive switch. It's taking an adjustment period for me. I do like the USB port on the stand, making it easy to charge my phone or tablet with ease. Assembly was a breeze and everything fits precisely so there is no wiggle. The base is heavy enough to support the lamp without being cumbersome to move. Read more
