Excellent item and excellent seller. These lights meet all my expectations. I had bought two of these to light up my patio and ended up buying a third since I thought I needed one more so my patio would be completely like daytime. The charge lasts all night and you can configure it for a motion sensor if you want. I had a small inconvenience with one of them (nothing important) and I contacted them and they attended to me immediately and very professionally answered all my concerns and needs. I bought this to replace my other light which came crashing down during a wind storm. I had great expectations for this light because this one seemed like it will be brighter. I just finished mounting it with my son and this is my findings thus far: PROS: 1. The light housing is made of cast aluminum which is relatively light weight and strong. The housing is solid and strong. All electronics including the battery are well protected with a metal cover that is hermetically sealed from the elements. 2. The light has standard faire of necessary functions, timed lighting (3, 5, 8 hour), motion sensor triggered lighting, brightness control, remote control, etc. in a reasonably priced package. 3. Since this is solar powered, makes it easy on the logistics of wiring. 4. The solar panel can be adjusted independently from the positioning of the light so that optimum positioning can be accomplished independent of each other. CONS: 1. The mounting hardware is made of thin meatal and does not instill confidence that it will withstand a wind storm likes of the one that brought down my old light. This really disturbs me. Thus, the low rating that I gave this. If it was not for this, I would have given it at least 4 stars. As flimsy as the old light was, the mounting hardware was made more sturdy than this one, even though the thickness of the metal is about same as the new one. For example, on the old light, the metal tube was attached to the mounting bracket had a flange where the metal tube was inserted into the flange which made the joint much stronger. On the new light, the flat thin-gauge mounting flange is merely welded onto a thin gauge tubing. Since the light housing is attached to the end of this tubing, during strong winds I think the stresses created at the welded joint may be strong enough to break the weld. There is a lot of flexing in this setup. In strong winds resonance could increase amplitude of the light movement beyond the breaking point of the mounting flange. 2. The top of the LED light mounting base is concave and facing towards the sky. The creates a cup that will hold water, snow or ice. Essentially, it is spoon-shaped light that will hold water and ice. I wish it had a cover that would create a dome up top so that water and ice can slide off instead of trapping it there. I am still keeping this. I am hoping that the light will stay put until I can devise something to reinforce the mounting (perhaps using PVC pipes to add 2 more stabilizing legs to the pipe stem?). Very disappointed. Bought these lights for our backyard. I attached them to 13’ poles that I found and they work great. As advertised, and I have four of them now. If you need a LOT of light, then better to go with the higher wattage ones. Read more
