I use hobby magnets and my Omega Seamaster started to run fast, about 30-40 seconds a day. Sent it in to Omega and they wanted $1200 (!) to replace the dial, which had become magnetized. Then had an idea to look for a demagnetizer and ordered this one. It worked instantly, though the watch was still running about 10 seconds fast a day. Then after coming back from a trip, remembered I had this and gave it a quick treatment. This time I put the watch inside the device on it's own and gave it a few seconds of exposure, and drew it out and away slowly as per the instructions. Now the watch is back in with COSC specs and only gains less then a second per day. Fantastic result! Read more

I received it in less than 24 hours, i couldn't wait to see if it works and it sure does. Plug it in, hold the item in the center of the ring and do not let it touch the sides what ever you do, then press the button hold for a few seconds and slowly withdraw the item from the center approx 2 ft away. Whalaa demagnetized. This works as designed and worth the money. Read more

Demagnetizer came with no directions and the box looks like it was hastily resealed with strapping tape. Pretty sure this is a returned item. Debating whether I will keep it. Read more

I have a 50 years old Seiko watch that my brother bought for my father, while my brother was serving in Viet Nam. Dad died in 1984 and my brother wanted me to have the watch. I had it cleaned back then, but never wore it because the band was too small and the watch ran fast (picking-up 10 minutes an hour). I retired this year and am going through a lot of my keepsakes. I researched what causes a watch to run fast, and the most likely reason was magnetization. I bought this product and followed the included instructions--and nothing changed. So, I once again asked Mr. Google what to do, and found a video showing an alternate way to use this device. Let me outline that here. 1. Take off the band. 2. Find a stiff piece of cardboard, about 12 inches long by 1 inch wide. 3. Put the watch on the cardboard face up, and pass the watch through the demagnetizer for seven seconds. 4. Count to 10, rotate the watch 90° and pass it through the demagnetizer again, for seven seconds. 5. Wait one minute, put the watch on the cardboard face down, and pass it through the demagnetizer again, for seven seconds 6. Count to 10, rotate the watch 90° and pass it through the demagnetizer again, for seven seconds. The first time I did this procedure, it went from gaining 10 minutes an hour to gaining just 3 minutes. Per the video, I waited 12 hours and did the procedure again (all four passes). I have no idea why the video said wait 12 hours, but the woman on the video sounded knowledgeable so I followed her instructions. After the second procedure, the watch gained one minute per hour. I could live with one minute per hour, but I decided to do one more pass. After the third procedure (again, waiting 12 hours and doing all four passes--two face-up and two face-down), the watch gains less than two seconds per hour. Needless to say, I'm thrilled! I bought a new watch band on Amazon too. It's called a Beads of Rice bank and it's almost identical to the 50-years old Seiko. I hope to put the Seiko clip on the new band. So, that's my story with this device. I hope it helps you. Read more

My watch was running 90s fast per day. Demagnetized it, and now it's down to about 4s/day. Read more

Extremely cheap, however it works. My watch was gaining over 20 secs a day. I ran it through this a few times, and it brought my watch back to spec of 3-4secs a day. It doesn’t seem like it will work since it’s so cheap, but it does. 3 stars for poor quality and no instructions. Read more
