I need to thank Democracy for having a Jean that actually fits any size woman. I own 3 pairs of regular jeans and 2 pairs of these shorts. It seems that most companies now make jeans that have to follow a trend of super high waisted jeans. Basically, these jeans are glorified “mom” jeans that only look good on women who are slender, 5’10” tall and are long waisted and weigh 100 lbs. . I am 5’1” @105 lbs and 64y.o. I bought 2 pairs of these shorts and the size 2 petite are perfect. The stretch is just enough and super comfortable. I highly recommend these shorts. My only grievance is that the olive green colored is $30 more in price. Why?? I will continue to purchase Democracy jeans . Read more
Cute, flattering, good fit. These are quality shorts that should last a long time. I love that the leg openings are generous enough that they don't squeeze me, but are not going to show my goodies when I sit down. These are a modest length without being matronly. I am in my 60s and don't have any qualms about wearing them to grocery stores, doctors offices, lucheons, etc. Read more
I gained some weight during the pandemic and haven't been able to lose it, so I haven't felt great in shorts lately. But on a whim I decided to try these, and they are great! The length is perfect and the fit is flattering. And as a bonus they are super comfy because there is some stretch to the denim and the waist band has some give. Love them! Read more
I am 5’5, 165 lbs. I bought my normal size 12 and they are a little big in the hips and zipper area. I ordered a size 10 to compare and will update. However, these are soo comfortable, it’s like I’m not wearing pants. Tag is a little itchy but that’s an easy fix. These have stretch and an ELASTIC waistband (take note women’s fashion designers!) First, I was nervous ordering my first pair of shorts on line. My sizes range from 8, 7/9, and 10 in pants. I read the reviews and took the advice to heart. Originally I was going to order a 10. I decided to go with 8 after the reviews. The 8 fits perfectly and not tight. The length is what I was looking for and NOT high waist. These sit right below my belly button. First off I never thought I would spend $70 on a pair of denim shorts from Amazon but I was pleasantly surprised. They fit well and the mid rise hits in the right spot for me as I am short waisted and cannot wear high waisted anything. I got a size 12, I am 5'4" and 175lbs. I felt like they were supporting my abs but not uncomfortable. Taking them on vacation will update if anything else stands out. Read more
