Not many places had a blotter this big which lead me to choose this company. I am glad I did. I am impressed with the texture and whole overall appearance. It is not a thick mat but thick enough to be durable. I unrolled it on the carpet and gave it a little heat from the hair dryer and it was ready to use. It is easy to wipe off. It is very easy to cut. Simply turn it over and use a good ink pen on the underside then cut with sharp scissors. I cut custom cut the mat to cover my desk and the pull out shelf. I was shocked the improvement this mat made to my old desk the surface looks brand new. The mat has enough grip on the under side to stay put on the surface of the desk. My mouse works just fine on the blotter. I even had a little piece of blotter left over and i used to to repair another item. I got my moneys worth, the price is reasonable for such a large blotter. The only small issue is that the clear coasters that came with it had some black staining from being rolled in the blotter. I didn't bother to send it back for this reason as the blotter itself is so nice and i couldn't wait to use it. I already had coasters to use to protect the mat from my coffee cup. This feels and looks like vinyl instead of leather (PU or not). It doesn't have stitched edges like some other blotters/mouse mats, but that's OK, I wasn't expecting it. This huge 24x48'' mat is more tablecloth than mouse mat, and that's alright with me. I have a four-feet-wide old metal desk whose surface got tarnished over time, so I was always looking at stains and blots; and since they appeared UNDER the finish, no amount of rubbing or cleaning would get rid of them. This product covers the entire width of my work area, edge to edge. Though the new surface isn't special in any way, I like that the mat hides the tainted metal underneath. (It also helps with the sharp metal edges (which are now JUST covered), and with the old desktop being cold to the touch on wintry days.) I'm decently happy with this product, and will mentally add another half a star when the mat hopefully becomes completely flat over time (right now, half an hour after installation, it's still a little irregular and "wavy" in appearance due to it having been packed and shipped when it was rolled up tightly). Executive Summary: I can highly recommend this mat. Reasoning and Justification: I was so sure that a glass top on my fabulous cherry office desk would be great. Shows off the wood underneath, with full protection. But... It's also a 'working' desk, from which I get to run my little retirement consulting biz, keeping the lights on, literally. Early clues to a few downsides showed up quickly. The glass shows every smudge, fingerprint, dust particle, crumb. Drop a small part on the glass and it bounces and then disappears. More critically for function, even an expensive computer mouse that claims to work on glass only sort-of does so. I started with a smaller keyboard-and-mouse size mat, but that quickly proved to be not enough for all the 'stuff' that gets used on the regular working part of the desktop. This 2'x5' black mat saves the day. It has a somewhat textured cloth-feel backing that stays firmly in place. It's thin, and the top face offers a very fine leather-like graining that looks great. It's very easy to clean with just a damp cloth, and, perhaps a little ironically, a little bit of glass cleaner if it's more than just dusty. The smaller mat I tried has an interesting molded-in stitching detail around the edge, something the larger one doesn't. I happily give up that detail for the ability to easily trim this larger mat to exactly the size I want. A straight-edge and razor knife easily handle that duty, on the chance that your workspace protection needs are slightly smaller. Or maybe you want it to fit around a clamp-on monitor mount, or give access to a cable pass-through or built-in power and services port. Conclusion: No fingerprints or smudges like the glass, easy to clean with a damp towel or maybe glass cleaner, great appearance, protects the glass or whatever desktop you have, fully functional for mouse, firm enough to write on paper on it, easy to custom fit if needed, doesn't slide. A great value for my needs. Even if you don't have an otherwise 'showoff' desktop, this mat is a great option, as it completely hides normal desktop wear and tear, replacing that look with a an attractive and very functional work surface. I really love how this covers my desk area, how sturdy it is, and the quality. I got the clear, transparent desk blotter/pad to offer protection but also to add things I references often underneath. It is still “uncurling” around the edges and nothing a few heavy books won’t take care of in a few days. This comes with little double-sided circle adhesives you can use to stick the pad to your desk or surface. I used three of these little circles and they are strong! So far, no residue left behind but that may come with time. I received my order in a few days and it was well-packaged inside plastic. I also received a mini desk of which reminded me of a mouse pad, but much thinner. I am using it for my computer stand. Overall, I’m happy with this and recommend this. Read more
