The disadvantage of having only a few buttons is that each button has to do multiple things. The Mode button doesn't always change modes and the Back button doesn't always take you back. Not the way I would engineer it but it is what it is. I've used and fiddled with it for about 20 min. or so. The battery still shows full. It seems to work fine. The media could not be loaded. This unit is compact and lightweight, simple to use - didn't even need instructions. Not loaded with features like some more expensive audio recorders, so that keeps the menu system simple. Took just a few minutes to set the date/time and recording settings, and was using it right away. Recording quality compared side-by-side to a semi-pro recorder is pretty amazing. Listen to attached video, recorded with this unit and a Tascam DR-05 side-by-side, from an audiobook played thru a quality sound system at normal conversational volume in a large room. You wouldn't use this to record a concert/musical performance for professional audio recording, but it can clearly pick up conversations in a large room as well as a larger, much more expensive recorder. Works as advertised and is simple to use. The only negative for these old eyes is the tiny display, but all you need to do is turn it on and hit record. You can easily see it is recording so that's all you need when in-use. Disregard the comments about poor instructions and being difficult to use - I suspect these people have no experience with simple electronic devices. Great little recorder for the price. Easy to operate with included instructions. Battery life is great and seems to last several hours. Only downside would be the speaker. Very hard for me to understand..so.. I plug this recorder into the remote speakers I use for my laptop and its just like I'm sitting in the meeting..sounds great. Not a deal breaker for me but might be if you don't have remote speakers to run this through. Read more

Terrible item! Used one time to record sleep time. Woke up in the morning, pressed play and it played. Went to menu. It went to the numbers 1,2,3 highlighted each number. Tried to scroll through menu again-wouldn't scroll. Tried to stop the recording-wouldn't stop, wouldn't pause. Turn the recorder off-Still playing!! it won't stop! No buttons will work. I can't even turn the volume down, it's in a continual loop. The loop button won't work. It won't turn off! Does not have a reset button. Contacted seller, waiting for response.
