Third tries the charm.
Three stars because it took 3 tries to get a usable product. And this is the 3rd attempt at buying heat and bite dentures. The first two we tiny little fake teeth packaged in styrofoam balls. Yeah those. FIRST. The instructions and video's don't really show how to do this when you still have teeth. SECOND. If you haven't had teeth in a long time and your jaw bone is very narrow like mine, it's hard to remove the cast from the mold without breaking it. The first one crumbled. :( So I mixed a second batch. I only needed half a bag as I threw about half of the first batch away. I was only doing the lower teeth. The second one cracked as well but only in two pieces so I super glued it together and hoped it held. THIRD. The amount of water they suggest is not enough. I used about twice as much adding more slowly. FOURTH. And here is the BIGGY. Forget the boiling water!! Instead use the OVEN. Heat it to 170. Lube the devil out of the cast mold. It was still hard to separate but read on. FIFTH on a cookie sheet with oven paper place the cast in the oven then place the Denture material directly over the mold. Keep an close eye. When it start to get transparent punch the teeth threw. Let it continue. Let it droop goopy over the whole cast, remove from oven. Careful not to break the cast, gently shape the denture material with your hand. LEAVE PLENTY ON TOP to set teeth in. Once its molded and you have revealed any teeth put it back in the oven and let the top layer become transparent again. Take it out and start setting teeth. When it starts to harden put it back in the oven. It takes about about a minute each time to reheat. NOTE: HOT WATER turned the material to an almost unusable gooey mess. Bu using the oven you can see when the material has reached it perfect temp without going too far. Water seems to retard the teeth from wanting to stick as well. SIX. Cool in cold water (or freezer) and then remove from cast. YEAH Right! I'm not sure how much lube you are suppose to use but it wasn't enough either time. I had to crack the cast and pry it out in pieces. Rinse the remaining cast material stuck to denture. SEVEN. Turn oven to BROIL at lowest heat (350) Return to oven with teeth down exposing the denture material that will be against your mouth. Let just the bottom get soft!! This happens very fast!. Not TOO soft. Just enough to smooth the edges. remove from oven and smooth rough areas. Put back in Boiler. let the whole surface that will be against your gum get gooey. remove from oven and put DIRECTLY IN MOUTH while soft. Press it against your gums. where you feel pressure press harder. Create Suction inside your mouth and feel it pressing against your gums. Smooth the inside with your tongue and outside with your fingers to thin material out. Eight. Take it out and repeat until you have a perfect fit. By forming it to your gums over and over you eventually get it right. To adjust the teeth I guess you could put it in broiler and just get the tops soft. First I need to do a full upper to see how they clash. I am expecting a different brand of of boil and bite full upper dentures today. Yeah I'm so tired of walking around without teeth. Can't smile. I'm getting a full new set!! The dentist wants $3000.00 to make my teeth fit for bottom partials. Root canals, crowns, bone graphing. idonthinkso. And that wasn't even counting the dentures!! It's a crying shame. And it's even worse the companies who advertise this type product then send you a strip of clown teeth. Again the instructions are limited and video jerky and spools constantly so hard to understand each step. This took me Hours! And several tries. I was ready to give up and get a refund then I thought about using the oven. Slept on it and tried again. What a game changer! Try it. Read more
