Used it to sharpen knives ranging from 1095, 420HC and S30V. The diamonds mostly wore off on the first sharpening but enough of the diamonds stay on the stone to reprofile a few knives which is what I needed it for. I got the coarse stone but the surface felt like a fine stone rather quickly. Read more

I don't plan to use these for my skis, it is extremely aggressive and I think the black stone is rough enough grit for well maintained skis. I have had friends bring me skis that haven't been tuned in years, with edges that are basically just one giant burr. I have always just said that they needed to take them to a shop. But now if they can't get to a shop, I can pull this out can go to town on them without having to worry about damage to my nice file or my stones for standard tuning. Read more
I always give my snowboard edges a quick tune up when I give it a fresh wax and this has helped big time. I usually just use gummy stones on my edges but now I use this first and finish with the gummy stones and it has made a big improvement to my tuning process.
