*update 12-29-2020* after several months of use these shoes started to have the the sole separate from the upper leather part. Used some loctite "flexible adhesive" to re glue the soles to the rest of the shoe and they are good as new. Like I said in my first review, I work in a welding shop and these shoes have seen some pretty heavy use and have held up. Granted, you shouldn't have to re glue your shoes together but the use I have put these shoes through is probably NOT what they were designed for and they have still held up. Will be purchasing again when my first pair finally give up. Great looking shoe. After reading older reviews I ordered a half size small but that was too small. Ordered my typical size and shoe fit great. I work in a welding shop but hate typical work boots so I usually go with oxford type shoes. I have no doubt these shoes will hold up great and provide great comfort even in a harsh environment like a welding shop. The shipper was great to work with. First pair I ordered were damaged in transit so I reordered. Accidentally canceled that order so had to order again, that pair was too small so I returned them and re-re-reordered the correct size lol. [ This is a 6 month update mentioned in the earlier review after wearing the shoes consistently 5 days a week] When writing the original review (below), the one unknown was the true durability of the shoe over time. Another reviewer had mentioned that the upper shoe held up well, but that the soles were a weak point. Unfortunately, I’ve had the same experience. As you can see from the included pictures, the shoe itself (upper) still look pretty good. And they are. But the soles are almost completely worn out. My previous pair of daily shoes were also Dockers (a different model) but those soles were amazingly durable. So …. I really had my hopes up for this pair. It’s a bit of a disappointment because the shoes are otherwise fantastic. I still really like the Dockers brand, so I’m going to try another model with a similar sole as my earlier pair. Since I’m the type that likes to be up and out quickly for the work day, I like a durable, decent looking shoe that I don’t have to think about, just give it an occasional shine and keep going. SUMMARY - This may be the shoe for you if you don’t plan to wear it daily, or, are not on your feet much of the work day. It really is otherwise a nice looking, extremely comfortable shoe. If you are on your feet much of the day, this still may work, but be prepared to replace it every 7-8 months. I don’t like hassles (as far as clothing is concerned), or needless waste, so, as mentioned earlier, I’m going to try a different model (with a different sole) and hope for the best. NOTE to DOCKERS: Why go to the trouble of making a really durable upper, then pair it with a gummy, quick-to-wear-out sole? Consider updating this model with a more durable sole. I bet you’ll significantly increase sales. I would gladly pay an additional $20-$30 for the same shoe with a longer-lasting sole. [Original Post Made Just a Few Days After Purchase] So far, these have been great shoes. Extremely comfortable, and, I hope they will prove to be as durable as they appear. - - HOWEVER, Take Note: The pair I received ran EXTREMELY large. I normally wear a 9 to 9.5 . I therefore initially ordered size 9. That “size 9” completely swallowed my foot. It fit like a 10 or larger. So, I retuned the size 9 (easy return, no problems) …. and re-ordered an 8.5 . The reordered 8.5 fit just fine, actually a little large … more like a 9.5 for most other brands. But, in summary…. good looking casual dress style but with a bit of a “beefy” durable look and feel. They were a bit stiff (like new leather hiking boots) the first day of wear, but quickly softened up. Now, they’re perhaps the most comfortable pair of shoe I’ve ever worn, while also having a sturdy, durable feel at the same time. Only time will tell, however, how they hold up. The uppers look like they’ll easily last for years. And while the soles look very durable (similar to a work boot), it will take about 4-6 months to really know how they’ll hold up over time. These shoes are true to size. But like many shoes, these days, they have little to no arch support. I use orthotics, so I'm compensating. But like many shoes from 50 or so years ago, they are constructed with thicker leather that can use a brief break-in period. Because they are roomy, the shoes are fairly easy on/off (not as easy as slip on shoes). I plan to use these shoes as snow shoes, wet weather, and trail shoes. They are not waterproof, but are water resistant, which is good enough (1" puddles, slushy parking lots, and chippy/muddy trails) for my intended use. They have an aggressive, deep tread for sure-footed traction (not ice) and have a stiffer base (the soles are not bendy and compliant like street shoes/sneakers). Because they are also casual, they will look good with jeans. The leather will take polish and will look spiffy with a buff shine. To use a car analogy, these are all-wheel drive SUVs and not 4X4 Jeeps. Read more

Quality just isn't what Dockers used to be. Uppers claim to be soft crazyhorse leather, but I really question the quality of this "leather". The soles are terrible and wear very easily. After less than a year of wearing these shoes, I can feel every stone I step on. Dockers used to mean good quality shoes that lasted. Now, they are designed and made to be replaced ... soon! After a couple of months of wearing these latest shoes, they remain just as uncomfortable and unforgiving as the day I opened the box. Read more
