This is the BEST way to watch the David Tennant episodes! The whole set comes with so much bang for your buck, its hard to believe the price was so cheap. The whole set comes with every single episode with the 10th Doctor run except for 'The Day of the Doctor' which wasn't in his run so its understandable. Each episode has been remastered to 1080p and has had slight digital remastering. They look great! Especially considering they were all filmed in standard definition. The 2009 specials made after Season 4, which were filmed in I believe native 720p look amazing on the 1080p remaster. The main area you'll notice the uptick in resolution is the title sequences, which have more clear text and look overall more clean and polished. Easily the best these episodes have EVER LOOKED! Don't expect them to look 4k crisp however, because the source material was only filmed in standard definition, but they do look miles better then the old DVDs. The sound was good, clear and punchy with deep base and appropriately clean sounding audio, as well as 5.1 surround which was a wonderful addition. Nothing else much to say other than it's again the best I've ever heard these episodes. The special features are also amazing, everything is included from trailers, confidential cutdowns (I think for copyright reasons.) Video diaries, and bonus episodes such as time crash and the wedding of River Song and the animated specials with Martha. The David Tennant interview is here and is interesting but not much to write home about, however you may get more enjoyment out of it then me. Bottom line, this set is great, I don't think I have any negatives as this set includes everything. I do wish the confidential episodes were the full versions but I don't think they could help that as it was probably down to copyright reasons. If you like David Tennant this is the set to get or are thinking about getting this set, it's so worth it considering the amount of episodes you get and the quality of the disks. Being that this is the first time these episodes have been released on Blu-Ray in North America, it's so nice to finally have them available for purchase. This set could have been priced at $45-$50 and still totally have been worth it. It's a no brainer to buy this set as even the DVD collection is not very cheap. If only the Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi Blu-Ray collections were this cheap, as they are several hundred dollars on amazon, which is a bit ridiculous. Thank you for reading this review! I hope it gives you a better insight of what this set includes :). Read more

The RTD led era of Doctor Who is by far my favorite in NuWho. This bluray has almost everything I love most. I'd have paid double for it as is, and even more if they included the Eccleston episodes. I already had the slim re-release sets on DVD, but when I saw this for under $25, I had to buy it. Unlike the Nine and Ten rerelease DVD with the pretty cover, this has ALL the special features from the individual season DVD sets. Even the Blink easter egg is still hidden, but you'll have to poke around to find it. The menus look just as they did on the old DVDs, only there's more episodes on each disc. All the extras are here, and the Davies era extras were definitely my favorite. Not only that, but they gave us other bonus features that were previously only available on the clunky packaged complete Tennant DVD set, a couple new things, AND the episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures with the Tenth Doctor. How cool is that?! I also appreciate how both parts of The End of Time are on the same disc. That irked me with the DVD set. The picture quality is great, but don't expect super hi-def since it wasn't filmed that way. I had no problems with sound, picture, or getting the boxset here in one piece. I have only one complaint, and it's a small silly one. There is a voice over PSA on the start of I think every single disc, shouting at me about this being a BBC DVD. I've only sat through this once ever on the last Tennant DVD set and I think he starts going off about piracy. Unnecessary back then, obnoxiously unnecessary now. The show was never quite the same for me post RTD, but I'm happy to have all my favorite episodes on BluRay. If this is your favorite era of the show, don't hesitate to buy this wonderful boxset. It often costs around $25 and that's WAY less than I had to spend to get the slim DVDs a nearly decade ago, buying them new they were going for $40-$58 per season. And if you were ever told to skip right to the Tennant episodes, please go back and watch the Eccleston episodes. They were just as amazing and you're really missing out. Read more

Not going to lie, David Tennant is without question my favorite Doctor, and the fact that prior to Matt Smith's era, the only way to get his episodes was on DVD. But, when I saw this collection, I immediately jumped on it (especially for the $25 price). And i can definitely say it was worth it. In this collection, you get all of his episodes, starting with "The Christmas Invasion" all the way to "The End of Time Part 2". Yes, it includes all of the Christmas specials, other holiday specials (Planet of the Dead, Waters of Mars, The End of Time Part 1 & 2), the animated specials, as well as The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith from The Sarah Jane Chronicles (the episodes where David Tennant Appeared in). So needless to say, its a very hefty collection. My only complaint about this collection is how its packaged. Rather than coming in one big Blu-Ray Case, it comes in one large case and one small one. It could have been because of the amount of disks, but I kinda was a bit disappointed with it. Also, the slip case comes off way too easily. Overall, great collection, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who's a fan of Doctor Who. Hopefully they'll keep with these collections and get us the Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi collections too. Read more
