He definitely responds to the beeping, which I was very happy about. I also tried the ultrasonic sound on him, and that works too. For now, I'm just using the beeping sound on him. This dog trainer works really well. With just two times using it my two girls are totally different when company stops by. They have stopped their jumping and barking at folks with just a glance of it. Most times all I have to say is, " I'll get the trainer" and they settle down. It's a really good buy.
