I’m not a professional groomer, I have two dogs that go to the groomer but in between grooming they get dirty and just need a bath. My Shih Tzu in particular needs regular bathing. She has a long coat and could take hours to dry with a hair dryer. I bought this dryer to speed up the process. Well it works really good. It said that you can dry a small dog, probably with short hair, in ten minutes. It took me about 1.5 hours to completely dry her but it’s a far cry from the 3 hours it has been taking. I wasn’t looking at a quick fix I knew that she would take a while to dry. This actually should be a good sign that it’s a good dryer if you can completely dry a Shih Tzu in 1.5 hours as they have very thick and long coats. Overall it’s a good dryer for the money. It’s easy to use and very sturdy. It looks like a quality product and feels like a quality product. Very impressed with the hose and attachments. It’s relatively small and not too heavy. I suppose you could carry it around but I don’t know why, I’ve set up my spare room with a bathroom as my grooming room. I recommend this dryer if you’re a home groomer who grooms their own dogs. It has adjustable speed and a heat setting. I used it on low with heat because I don’t want to dry her too fast and I brush while drying to keep her coat straight. This is a great dryer to have on hand for any dog owner. It has so much more power than a hair dryer, and will leave your dog with a fluffy coat. The key to using a dryer like this is to get your dog 100% dry. Please watch videos on how to use high velocity dryers if you are new to them. Also the nozzle attachments are mislabeled. Use the cone for thick coated dogs. It funnels the air to get down to the skin to get through double coats, or coarse hair. I advise not to use this attachment for dogs with hair-like fur (yorkies, long coated maltese/havanese, etc) because the hair can get tangled. The cone can also be used to de-shed compacted coats without a bath. The rectangular attachment is called a fluffer, and it is appropriate for all coat types. It's more gently than the cone and is useful for "fluffing" a coat, such as for hair-like coats mentioned above. The other wider fluffer is similarly effective, and can be used for all coat types. Absolutely worth the money. Although it’s very noisy and loud, it’s very effective. It used to take me 2 1/2 hours to dry my dog with towels. Now it only takes me 40 minutes to an hour with this machine. It’s like having a dog salon in your home. Would highly recommend. Read more

Short answer: AWESOME!!! Long story: We got this yesterday and used it today and all I can say is WOW! We have a medium sized Bernadoodle (51 pounds) and I brush him about an hour a night. I like his hair long and the last time I took him to the groomer she was running late and we waited patiently, no problem, everyone runs late....but when I picked him up he was shaved completely! She said he was mated everywhere, but I know that he wasn't and figured she just wanted to go home (we were the last appointment). So, I bought grooming table from Amazon, but quickly realized the blow dryer was not cutting it. It would take about 2 hours to get him totally dry and brushed/combed....so, black friday deal brought me this and all I can say is that it would have been worth it at the regular price! The power is amazing and I was done drying him in about 20 minutes. AND, the bonus is that his hair was not knotted up like when we used the blow dryer! That means brushing and combing was really easy and MUCH faster...about 30 minutes. This is insane! He looks SOOO good. This literally blows the water off him. I started with the heat on because it was coming out cold, but then the tube got very hot (not insulated and probably should take .5 point off if I want to nit pick) but the air still came out cold. Shortly after, it started coming out hot, and I had to turn the heat off, more because the tube was getting VERY hot. The attachments are AMAZING and really help to create a lot of air volume. Pros: I really love this dryer, it's quiet, it's powerful, it's portable, and it's small so it doesn't get in the way or obstruct the space. The attachments are noce and it's incredibly easy to put together. Dries most coats fairly quickly; takes me about 7 minutes to completely dry most small dogs. Cons: Wouldn't be ideal for double coated dogs, and wouldn't be my first choice for deshedding. It will work, but it will take longer than a more powerful dryer like a mightywind. The hose is also kinda short, but since the unit is small and lightweight you can just move it around as you need to. Read more
