Miss Maggie loves her new earmuffs. She wasn't so sure when I was first putting them on, but it only took seconds for her to decide she likes them. We had occasion to test them during a thunderstorm recently, which she normally does not tolerate well. She normally shakes and buries her head in pillows or between the sofa and my leg. She gets too hot and pants, which makes the anxiety worse, so I decided to try these muffs. She did not bury her head after I put them on and did not pant or overheat. The shaking from fear was greatly minimized. This is such a clever item and a great value for the money. She is a 15-pound Dachshund, and I ordered a small. They fit perfectly and were easy to put on. The Velcro makes them easy to adjust. They stayed on perfectly without any slipping. They are soft and stretchy, so I feel they would fit a variety of sizes of dogs well. Also, hot pink is her favorite color, so she gets to make a fashion statement, which is very important to her. I highly recommend this for dogs with noise anxiety. Read more

Introduction I used this with Alpine, a husky pit bull mix with a large head who is very anxious and reactive to noise. He tends to calm when I cup my hands over his ears, so I wanted to test this as a noise-management aid. What I Love The color matches the product photos accurately. The material has good structure and does not feel flimsy. The Large size can accommodate dogs with a larger head. It stayed in place briefly during controlled testing. I tested it during dishwasher use, an automatic vacuum, and a loud steaming session. It provides full ear coverage similar to manually covering his ears. The included instructions outline a gradual process for introducing the ear wrap to a dog. What I Like Less The fit can be hit or miss, especially with dogs that dislike handling. Alpine strongly resists wearing it and tries to escape. This will require gradual training over time rather than immediate acceptance. Summary This ear wrap appears well made and appropriately sized for large-headed dogs, but tolerance depends heavily on the dog. With patience and a gradual introduction, it may function as a longer-term desensitization tool rather than an immediate solution for noise-reactive dogs. Read more
