We (and our pooch) are thrilled with this dog bed! Update: 2023 (6 years of daily use!) I’m thrilled with this dog bed! I can’t believe how well the cover has held up with all the roughhousing my kids do with our dog! It’s withstood years of tug of war with dog digging long nails into the bed as my kids play tug with our dog without any damage whatsoever. We’ve washed the cover over the years and it’s held up perfectly. As for the bed itself, our dog loves it and it looks like the day we bought it, can’t say enough good things about it. Size: I ordered the XL microfiber in brown for our 52 lb standard goldendoodle and its a great size for him. I love how it fits flush against the wall / corner providing our long dog with plenty of room without taking up a ton of space in our family room. Durability: We’ve had it for over three months so I can attest to its duribility and will update this review if anything changes. I was worried that my dog’s long nails might tear the cover but it’s held up beautifully. It’s even survived many a game of tug of war with the kids on one end & pooch on the bed, digging his paws and nails into the bed as he tugs & pulls with all his might. Comfort: Super comfy, the kids cuddle with our pooch on his bed & complain that his bed is more comfortable than theirs. In fact, they’re trying to talk me into buying one for their playroom! (Oh, and yes, the dog loves it too, he loved it immediately & loves the headrest / pillow) Asthetics: I wish they offered a few more colors but the brown I ordered is fine, it’s not a beautiful addition to my interior decor but it’s not an eyesore either and, as dog beds go, this is the best all around dog bed I’ve ever owned! This is a very nice bed for a dog with joint problems or other degenerative diseases. My English Bulldog is 13 and has arthritis and joint stiffness and she is very comfortable on this bed. She even enjoys the pillow on the end and uses it most of the time. The material feels like real memory foam and holds her 55 pounds easily. The outside cover is washable and was easy to take off and put on. The trick is to roll up the side you are on, slip it into the cover, then the other side. I don't think the material shrunk after I laundered it, but I did wash on cold and line-dried. I chose the microfiber, but think the denim would have been better since it's 100% cotton and cooler. However the weather has been very hot and humid here, so maybe the microfiber is okay. When it arrived, it smelled like a new mattress does, so I left it outside for 24 hours. That have it time to fluff up to its full size. Be aware that this bed is HUGE! Look at the measurements. Six dogs the size of my 55 pound English Bulldog could fit on the bed. The dog bed is at least 2/3rds the size of my queen bed. It takes up a lot of room.. I like it so well that I'm back to order one in a smaller size if I can find it. You'll be fine if you have a lot of space. UPDATE - I ordered a smaller bed and my dog doesn't like it, so back to the huge bed. She can change positions, roll on it, and move from area to area. I’m not one to leave reviews for items that I purchase, but this company deserves one. This will be my 3rd dog bed purchased from this company. I fell in love with this brand in 2014 after having been through 4 dog beds that my Chow Chow(165lbs) refused to lay/sleep on. This was the only dog bed she loved. When she passed away in 2019 the bed was still in excellent condition that I donated it to her vet office. The veterinarian months later thanked me so much for the bed because she keeps it in her office for animals to sleep on after surgery, so she can monitor them. She said she’s never had a dog or cat not love sleeping on that bed. Still to this day October 2023 she has that bed in her office, and that the foam has not lost its form and or flattened down. Later that year I bought another one for our German Rottweiler(198lbs) that fell in love with his as well, but he unfortunately passed at the age two from a rare brain tumor. I received my third one 1st thing this morning and have allowed it to expand. My 18 month German Shepherd(157lbs) has already taken a liking to it. I love the water proof cover and the fact that it and the main cover are washable. I plan on buying another cover soon when I have the $$$ too, so when I go to wash the outside cover I can put the replacement one on it immediately. After my dog's last 2 beds fell apart, I decided to spend a little more and went in search of a better bed for my furry kids. I had 3 requirements... Waterproof (I have vengeful cats) Durable (doggie toenails) Comfortable (I wanted orthopedic foam) I'm happy to say that this bed fits the bill nicely! The gel foam is exceptional. It's thick and comfy, and my dogs really like it laying on it. The waterproof lining is definitely a plus, although the cats haven't put it to the test as of yet. I got the blue denim cover and I'm sure it will last a long time. No toenail issues so far, and I don't expect any either. This bed is worth every penny... 2 paws up!! Read more
