Let’s be clear: the main reason to wear a cover-up is to not feel like you’re parading around in just a swimsuit. When this sheer little number arrived, I thought, “Okay, this is barely there.” It’s a dress made of whisper-thin, soft knit mesh that you can literally see right through. So, the “cover” part is debatable, but the “up” part? Surprisingly stylish. It’s a simple tank dress shape with a scoop neck and a subtle side slit. The little faux wooden rings on the shoulder straps are a cute detail that keeps it from looking too basic. The fabric is 100% polyester, lightweight, and has a bit of stretch, so it’s stupidly easy to throw on over a wet suit. It’s the kind of thing you wear from the pool to the hotel bar, feeling vaguely chic but also like you’re getting away with something because you’re technically still in beachwear. My sincere hope is that this delicate mesh and the ring details are durable enough for more than one vacation. The idea is that you can live in it by the water, but I’m crossing my fingers that it survives sunscreen, salt water, and being shoved into a beach bag without developing a snag or a loose thread. Here’s the poolside report: What makes the cut: · The look is simple and chic. The sheer fabric and ring details make it feel more intentional than a basic sarong. · It’s incredibly lightweight and breathable, which is perfect for hot, humid beach days. · The loose, stretchy fit is genuinely comfortable and forgiving right after a big lunch. What might not float your boat: · It is completely sheer. This is not for the modest; your swimsuit is fully on display. · The care label says “Hand Wash Only,” which is a bit of a pain for something meant to get sandy and wet. · The length is more of a tunic (about 28 inches for a size Small). It’s cute, but if you’re tall, it might be shorter than you expect. If you want a cover-up that feels like a sexy little dress and don’t mind showing off your swimsuit underneath, this is a fun, breezy option. It hasn’t magically given me a resort-worthy tan, but it did make my trip from the pool chair to the pool bar feel significantly more glamorous. Just maybe pack a real dress, too. I hope this helps you write your review! If you need a second opinion on the fit or comparisons to other summer styles, feel free to ask. Read more
