The tripod does what it was made to do, hold a compact camera. This is not for bigger cameras. Of course, this one is designed for flat surfaces. It's design makes it easy to store in the camera case. Using it with a Fujifilm F20, which mount is located to the left side of the camera, and a Canon SD4500. The beauty of it is it's tiny. So even fits in a shirt pocket. But for a dslr it's really much too light to hold it. Obviously you need to point the center leg toward the heaviest part of the camera for balance. But still, the weight of the camera is too much for it. Still tips from the weight. Not that the tripod tips over. That's pretty stable. But the camera slips down since the tripod doesn't lock solid enough to hold the weight at any angle. On the other hand, if you just need the tripod to steady a shot (macro, for instance), you can hold the camera on the tripod while you take the shot. Using it like that it's worth 5 stars. Read more

We like this little tripod so much we bought half a dozen of them. It's small enough to carry in your pocket or purse and very handy to use with a camera timer. We own several tripods of varying sizes and this is the one we use the most. Especially when we travel. The difference is that now when we take pictures we are both in them, my wife and I. Prior to these little beauties our photograhs had one or the other of us in them, not both of us. Read more

I was looking for a cheap, compact tripod so that I could mount my Zoom H4n for interviews. This is perfect. The price is right and it supports it perfectly (see pictures here:[...]). Most of the reviews are bashing the $4 tripod because it doesn't support a fully loaded DSLR. I mean, come on... Know its limitations, and you'll appreciate it! Read more

There are better mini tripods out there. The tripod screws into the base of the camera which is normal. However the legs are so short they can not stabilize a camera especially if the attachment hole on the base of the camera is not centered. So if the screw on adapter hole on the base of your camera is to one side of center the legs will not support the camera upright and the tripod and camera fall over! I donated mine to the Goodwill Store and purchased another brand with longer legs that works fine. Read more
