I bought this door chime for my parents who live in an independent/assisted living. They needed some way to ensure caregivers could still access the room at night if needed, but that they wouldn't awake scared because someone was in the room. This is perfect! The chime has lots of different sounds to choose from and you can adjust the volume. My parents can hear it but their neighbors can't. This gives me security knowing that if someone opened the door I would hear it. My only gripe is that it randomly goes off, usually in the middle of the night. I cannot figure out why. It isn't windy, the door didn't fly open, nor anything else. I make sure the doors are shut tight and locked, yet it still goes off. Which isn't good when a person cannot get back to sleep wondering why it went off. I do appreciate the volume, the size, and how easy it is to install. I do feel it worth the value for the money.
