Fits a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee w/ 3.6L
This replaced the belt tensioner pulley on my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 3.6 V6. It is slightly different though as the OEM pulley has a metal shield covering the bearing, whereas this does not. However, this pulley is a sealed bearing just as the OEM piece was so it shouldn't be an issue. Way better than replacing the belt tensioner assembly at $100+ minimum! Read more

Idler Pulley
My 2010 Jeep Wrangler was making a whining noise from the engine, I popped the hood and it seemed to be coming from the idler pulley. So I found this on Amazon for less than $10 and I thought I would give it a try. It came quickly and I installed it in less than 10 min. There is a spring loaded belt tensioner and I just used a 3/8 socket wrench (there is a hole for 3/8 and 1/2 drive wrenches) to move the tensioner and removed the belt. Then you just remove the bolt holding the pulley and replace the pulley. Put the belt back on and you are done. Definitely the easiest repair I have done in a while. And it fixed the whining noise. So far no more issues. I actually bought a second one to keep on hand. See attached pictures: one is of the new pulley installed, the other shows the belt tensioner. Read more

It's a Dorman product. It's good. Dorman is sometimes better than OEM and I apologize to no one for saying so. There are so many unpronouncable Chinese brands and many are cheaper (because they are made from Chinesium, a material that LOOKS like the original but isn't. At all.), but do you really want to pinch pennies on a product that will leave you in the middle of nowhere if it fails? Read more
