I started using collagen peptides recently for joint maintenance and repair. The verdict is still out as to whether or not it's going to make a difference for me. But I haven't been taking collagen for very long and I'm told it can take a while to notice the effects. When I started taking collagen, I was using a different brand (Garden of Life). It has types I and III collagen has a high protein profile per serving and is supposed to be flavorless. It is not. I found that the Garden of Life product didn't mix very well and if not diluted and/or mixed enough, would have a taste I didn't find agreeable at all. CONTRAST THIS WITH DOUBLE WOOD collagen peptides. First, it's cheaper per unit than the GOL brand. Granted you don't get as much per serving. But it mixes and dissolves into any liquid very, very well. The best part, no taste. It says it's flavorless...and it REALLY is. Lastly, it has not only TYPE I AND TYPE III collagen, but ALSO TYPE II, and that's the one which specifically targets joints. If you look around, you'll discover that many of the brands don't have type II collagen and this is probably the most important type to consume if you're looking for joint repair and maintenance. All these factors taken together mean that for me, DOUBLE WOOD COLLAGEN IS A SUPERIOR PRODUCT. I do not understand the negative reviews I saw claiming it doesn't mix well and tastes weird. I’ve never used collagen before & this was recommended by someone I follow on Instagram. There is no taste, mixes well with hot coffee & I have not experienced an upset stomach. I wanted this collagen because it is pure Bovine. I cannot take marine collagen due to a rash I always get. Likely a fish allergy. But this stuff works well. Have been taking for a couple months now. Does great things for the hair, eyes and skin. I even went to visit a mechanics shop that I go to every few months, and the owner stopped and said...Wow, you look like you got younger. What did you do?! So I guess it's that good. HA! I am also using for internal tissue health like ligaments and wound healing.
