Great bag! Very warm.

First day out. But I love the way it feels#. I am only 5’8” but it fits perfectly. It feels wide enough that I don’t feel like a burrito. It’s thick, fluffy and warm. Time will tell. I prefer that it’s all black too. We’ll see how it holds up after its first cleaning. The dog is already cuddling up against it. Read more

Compact, light weight, but .....noisy??

My kids are growing in to camping, so we're starting to build our stock of camping gear. They're ready for more technical camping bags rather than cutesy slumber-party friendly products, so we grabbed this bag for a starter bag for my oldest girl. PLUS: --Fairly compact, and easy to stuff into it's sack even if you're a 9-year-old novice camper. --Lightweight, so also good for the under-10 crowd when they don't want to have to haul a heavy item. --Sized for an adult, so plenty of room for my almost-tween in the bag. --Zips open all the way, so it can be opened and laid flat / used with a liner or flat sheet so it's not all-or-nothing with the insulated bag. --Kept us warm on a cool spring night, and, let's be honest, we're not likely to do actual extreme camping other than shoulder-season scout camp-outs. We can bring supplemental blankets and apparel for those cold nights. Minus: --The outer shell is a nice smooth nylon. It does rustle quite a bit when ruching around on one's bunk at camp. --The smooth outer nylon shell can be slippery, so if one is sleeping on a slick camping pad on not-perfectly-flat ground, one WILL slide around in this bag under the influence of gravity, especially if one is a restless sleeper. I slid off my camping pad several times throughout the night in this bag. --Can be too warm, so for summer campers DEFINITELY bring some additional bedding--plan to use this as a base or a top cover blanket so you can adjust your temperature better. In general, this is a pretty great starter bag. It's not perfect for our uses, but will get the job done well for a while until we grow into more serious gear. If you're really into technical camping, though, you may want something more specialized than this. Read more

Not as rated

I just took this on a camping trip where the temperatures dipped into the low 30's at night - supposedly within the specs for the bag. The first night I was very cold even though I added extra covers around me. After that, I reverted to sleeping in my car. Although a bit warmer, I still woke up cold each morning. I will be keeping this as my July/August sleeping bag or when indoors but not for other times. Read more
