These leashes are fantastic. My new puppy had giardia when I got him. We had to keep him penned in the house and could only let him use pee pads for 2 weeks. This was confusing for him, so it caused all sorts of house training problems. We also wanted to always keep a house line on him when he wasn't in his crate. The result of these two factors was that he was always peeing on the floor and then dragging his line through it. So I needed a bunch of cheap leashes that I could use for the day (or for the hour!), then throw in the washing machine with oxygen bleach and detergent and hot water. These leashes have been soaked in bleach and washed so many times since I bought them many months ago! They hang-dry in about 10 minute,s, though I sometimes send them through the hot dryer. I was afraid that the metal would corrode but it's still shiny and perfect. I like the length and the material. I tied a second loop handle in each leash so that I could keep him on a very short leash when out in the neighborhood or when training him to heel. The knots stay tied even after laundering. The leashes have no stretch at all. The material on some leashes has gotten a little fuzzy, but even in places where my dog has managed to chew, it has not frayed or broken. The material softened with use and washing, so it's comfortable to hold even when my dog lunges. (I had to stop using a different leash when it gave me rope burn.) I also really like how lightweight they are. It feels like I'm holding nothing at all, but they hold my 56-pound energetic and crazy labradoodle with no problem. The light pink ones are looking a little stained now after having been dragged through the dirt. But other than that they still look great. Read more

I like to keep extra slip leads at home and in my car to use if I come across a loose dog. The lead is easy to slip over a dog's head and now I have a way to keep the dog out of traffic or from continuing its walk about. I have found in rescue situations, a lead I put on a dog tends to stay with the dog; I would rather donate an inexpensive lead to getting the dog home than one of my good ones. In addition to being inexpensive, the leads take up almost no room in a drawer or glove box. I chose the 1-inch, thicker lead over the small dog slip leads. I can use the large size lead with a small dog, but not the converse; meaning, small dog slip leads can be inadequate when dealing with a large dog. Some obvious words of caution. These slip leads have no stop; they loosen and tighten as the dog and/or I move around. If I am not careful about managing the lead, it can easily come off the dog. These slip leads are reasonably thick, but they are by no means chew-proof. Read more

Keeping it simple is usually the best way to buy a slip lead that does the job right. I tried 2 slip leads before these. One was advertised primarily for its comfort. It was luxuriously soft (softest I’ve tried). Unfortunately it wouldn’t stay where it was place. As the dog moved so did this slip lead. The only “slip” should be in the way it’s put on and taken off. It shouldn’t slip once on the dog, unless you decide it should slip. Similar issues with other lead. But these slip leads are simple and efficient. Slip it around the dog’s neck. No slip beyond what is expected when placing around dogs neck. In other words you can control the dog. I use these primarily as training leashes. So having that control is mandatory. No need to look at the flashy slip leads. Sometimes the most simple slip lead is the best you can buy. Read more

these are not heavy duty, so I wouldn't recommend these in place of a good strong leash for a bigger dog. but if you want something that goes on quick and easy, this is it. Read more

I'm not sure how I feel about these. They're the proper length and the proper width. But they are so stiff and take forever to break in. I even pre wash them in the hopes they would loosen up, it didn't work. The knot Comes undone in the tub, on the drying table, and on my table, I dont know that I can recommend it. But There aren't many other options. Read more

I keep one of these leashes with me on dog walks, in case my dog’s leash breaks, in case we come across a stray, in case a strange dog runs up to us, etc. It’s come in handy for returning my neighbor’s dog to him, multiple times. Gives me peace of mind that I have a backup tool. Also has worked as a rope in crisis situations! Read more
