My new watercolor obsession!
Watercolor is my favorite medium even though I do a wide variety of art. I've been a big fan of M. Graham paints for several years now and they're usually my go-to when I want to paint. I recently came across Sanajana's Art on Youtube/Facebook and after watching her paint I just knew I had to try these out. It's safe to say they meet and exceed all of my expectations! The colors are really rich and vibrant! The colors in this range are enough that you can mix virtually anything from them. There is a cool yellow, warm yellow, cool red, warm red, cool blue, warm blue, brown, and black. That would be a great starting set by itself, but it also includes white, green, purple, and a third pink/red color. My only complaints about the colors offered are that two of the reds look virtually identical by themselves - but they'll at least be useful for slightly different mixing options. I debated between the .5oz bottles and the 1oz bottles since the 1oz weren't much more expensive. I decided to play it safe and get these just in case I didn't like them. I think getting this set is just fine. I've finished an entire painting using no more than 2 drops of each color (other than maybe a couple extras where I was trying to get just the right mix), so I expect these "small" bottles will still last quite some time. I've used these on watercolor paper and in coloring books and they work beautifully in both. They work with regular brushes and water brushes. They seem to dry fairly fast so they do take a little getting used to - once they are dry they are permanent and don't pick back up the way some watercolors do. If you've used Inktense pencils/blocks these actually feel fairly similar to those once they are dry. At this point I don't think there's anything these vibrant paints can't do, so give them a try!
