This works well for loosening buildups in the drain resulting from mold and other minor buildups, but if you already have a clog, this will not flush it out and you will need an actual clog remover. This is more like treating the drain after the clog is removed and preventing the buildup from coming back too soon and creating a problem. Works as intended, but not a clog remover, more like a prevention method. Read more
This is Drano Max Build-Up Remover, and as the name implies, it’s designed to prevent clogs BEFORE they happen. It's for when your drains are slow but still running. If they're really slow from years of build up, you may need mutliple uses before seeing results. Glad I finally started to using this instead of the Max Gel, which is too harsh and damaging for maintence/frequent use. This actually helps to remove build up where the Max Gel just quickly burns a hole to let water through. Only this can remove years' worth ot build up. If you have a complete blockage, you need either a professional, a snake, or the max gel before using this as regular maintenace so you don't have to deal with that hassle, price, and potential damage. Its Purpose: It uses active enzymes to eat away at the gunk (organic matter, soap scum, grease) that lines your pipes over time. You must pour it down the drain and leave it in overnight. Do not run water immediately after, or you’ll just wash the enzymes away. Frequency: It is meant to be a monthly routine to keep your pipes running smoothly. Where to Use: It is safe for kitchen and bathroom drains, and unlike many "clog blasters," it is safe for garbage disposals, septic tanks, and even toilets. The Bottom Line: If you want to stop calling the plumber for emergency clogs, use this once a month as preventative care. It works perfectly as long as you understand it's maintenance, not a "clog emergency" fix! Read more
How I wish that this product stipulated in its description that it didn't work on clogs! My bathroom sink was not draining, so wanting to protect the plumbing from harsh chemicals I purchased this product only to find in reviews (which I should have read before purchasing) that it didn't work on clogs. Does not work, get the red one this is junk. Poured the whole bottle in my sink and absolutely nothing happened. I left it draining in the sink overnight and the next morning it was still draining the clogged didn’t even budge. Got the red one and my sink was good in like 30 sec after I poured it in. Why would they even make this? Read more
Bought this for my slow draining bathroom sink. Directions says to pour 10oz but the bottle doesn't come with measurement markings on it so i just guessed up and pour half. Let it sat overnight and the next morning, i turned on the water and the draining was still slow so it didn't work for what i had bought it for. Read more
I had a extremely slow kitchen drain. I used this. Let it sit for an hour or so and then flushed the drain. I was amazed when the drain worked perfectly! This would be a good product to use every few months to keep drains clear. Read more
After unclogging and removing the food in the bathroom sink drain (don't ask), I apparently riled up the scum and other buildup of 10 years resulting in a pretty gross smell. I used this for 3 nights and the bad smell is gone. It had been skeptical but it turned out to be the right solution for my smelling problem. The drain runs fine now and it smells...well, normal, but who sticks their nose in the drain anyway. Read more
