This thing is just awesome. I gave her name and some googly eyes, and now she is my official cleaning lady. Does a great job with dog hair which was the main reason for the purpose. I was vacuuming all the time. I have hard floors and 3 dogs one of which is a golden retriever that sheds like crazy. The D20 does really great getting up the pet hair along with other stuff in the floor. I have a couple area rugs as well as thick mats in front of the front and back doors, and she does great on both. I definitely make sure to get up any cables or little things like door stops as she will get caught up from time to time. The app works great and does a good job of sending alerts when there is an issue. It lets you know if it’s hung up on something, stick on an edge and if the cleaners are tangled up underneath along with other things. It’s really easy to flip over and take off the brushes to clean them out and untangle them, and easy to put it all back together. You can also schedule her to clean any time of day / night and customize how it cleans certain areas. I prefer to let her run late at night while me and the dogs are sleeping, and she gets the house done in about 90 minutes and covers a lot of ground. She’s also surprisingly quiet for as much as she is picking up. If I’m already awake, I can hear her start to roll around upstairs. But I’ve never been woken up by her, nor have my dogs. I have never used the mop feature as I bought it only for the vacuuming. From what I’ve read it seems there are better options for mopping. But as far as vacuuming goes I am super happy with her! I was vacuuming 3-4 times a week and would usually mop every other week, if ai could get away with it. Now I vacuum and mop once every two weeks, and Dreame does a wonderful job keeping the place clean in between my bi-weekly cleanings. The price and this is still holding at Amazon. It's even dropped down below $280 during Christmas. I picked up the D20 Plus because I mostly wanted a good floor/carpet vacuum model. Could care less about the mopping function and this unit let's you detach the mop pad and operate as vacuum only. The D20 Plus also has an extending side brush that will reach out into a hard corner when it comes to one and then retract back to the standard side brush position. Works well especially with hard floors. This robot maps the rooms very well, has a deep clean mode for carpets and has a physical carpet sensor on it’s undercarriage to detect the difference between hardwood floor and carpet. Keeps track of its battery level and will return to base for a recharge when needed, then continue it's cleaning once recharged. I have two cats and I find that the deep clean mode is strong enough to pick up bits of cat litter from the carpet around the litter box area. Besides the extending side brush the D20 also is a dual brush unit, which is pretty rare these days. Having previously owned an older dual brush Roomba and then trying a new single brush Roomba, followed by a single brush Roborock, it appears the dual brush picks up pet fur better off carpet. I read somewhere that Dreame is also owned by the same parent company that makes Roborock. I tried a Roborock Q10 S5 prior and it was junk. Ran the firmware update straight out of the box, which apparently had a flaw that can kill the unit's ability to find and dock with its base (Google Reddit for details). Mine would just sit in front of the charging dock and spin. If it’s not a firmware flaw, then it’s a faulty charging base detection issue. The Dreame however works great though. Finds the charging dock every time. Auto emptying feature works well. “Just A Dad” robovac reviews likes this one as a VAC only use unit. Recommends a different model if you want a mop and vac function. Its app is basic and similar to that of other brands. Avoid new model Roborock units. I will also mention that I tried a vacuum only Roomba at the beginning of my selection journey. My previous robovac was a bump and move model, pre-LiDAR mapping, but worked great. Unfortunately, Roomba went to a side brush that is a snap on and that design is garbage. It’s side brush kept popping off every time it would brush against a chair leg or miscellaneous anything. I have two cats, a dog, and a full-time job, so vacuuming every day was wearing me out. I needed something that could empty itself and handle tons of animal fur without me having to untangle the brush every week. After watching a bunch of videos, this one looked like it would fit my budget and actually do the job. I set it up in about fifteen minutes and let it map the house on the first run. The only thing I needed help with was figuring out which wireless network had 2.4ghz on it. The suction pulls up embedded hair from my rugs better than my old upright ever did, and the double rubber brushes almost never get hair wrapped around them – I only cleaned them once in three weeks. It empties itself into the big bag in the base with a loud whoosh, but after that I forget about it for a month or more. The mopping part is fine for daily light cleanup on my kitchen tile; it leaves the floor damp but not soaked, and I just refill the water tank every few days. The only thing that annoyed me is that it sometimes gets stuck on thick rug tassels or my dog's rope toys if I leave them on the floor, and it did try to fall down the basement stairs once before I added the no-go zone. Oh yeah, I wanted to warn about stairs. This unit will drive right off the edge of a cliff! So, keep an eye out for runnaways! Bottom line, my floors stay cleaner than they ever did when I had to do it myself, and I barely touch the thing except to change the big dust bag every six or seven weeks. If you have pets and hate vacuuming, I would buy it again without thinking twice. Read more
