We chose this one because we didn’t want to drill into the countertop or deal with potential leaking issues in the future. Strongly recommend the 5L model since it comes with two pitchers, which we’ve found very convenient for our family. We used a TDS reader to run our own test, and the readings appear quite accurate. Setup was extremely easy—the system automatically flushes itself after being plugged in. After two tanks of flushing, the water measured about 30 TDS, a huge improvement from our previous 360 (hard to believe we drank that water for two years!). It does what it is supposed to efficiently. We are a family of four, and I think having an extra pitcher in the fridge would mean that we will never run out of water. It looks sleek. Water tastes clean and I feel safe for my kids to drink it. However, I was not aware that this product should be 12 inches away from wall based on the manual. Sure refrigerators have them and I won't buy a frig without one, but I drink bottled water because I honestly don't like the "taste" of tap water no matter what filter is alleged to be used. Well, recently I received a reverse osmosis water filter for the countertop and with skepticism set it up and the family loves it. Uses it for all their tea and drink mixes. I admit I too think it looks and tastes better. I still rely on my bottled water for direct drinking water but for hot and iced tea I only use the countertop water. I tell you this to explain why I ordered two more countertop systems for my family. Maybe, just maybe, I believe in the impurities being removed and that this is a healthier way to drink water straight and to prepare mixed beverages, especially when there are children in the household. This countertop system went to my sister-in-law and her grandchild. We were visiting over the weekend and set it up. The set up on this DREO was easy but we used our phone to access more information and directions on setting it up. Everything needed for the use o the system is included in the box. It is very simple to use once it is setup. All the containers need to be cleaned prior to the first use but then it just gets plugged in. The pitcher faces towards the machine and the machine will dispense the water automatically in about three minutes for a filled pitcher. The barcode on the machine will help should you want to change the settings for modifications of original settings. I do think filtered water is vital, especially with laws and protections being lifted on clean energy and climate. Water dumping is not as prohibited as it once was. The filters in this filtration system minimizes or eliminates many of the dangerous impurities from tape water. It is self-cleaning. The filters don't need to be changed but once every 6-12 months. The water actually tastes slightly different. Cleaner. Better. Like well, nothing. The way water should taste. Pure. The machine is about the size of a coffee maker, thus, depending on the amount of counter space you have, both should fit. This system looks great in the silver tone. It is aesthetically pleasing and very high tech looking. This DREO is priced at $169.99. It is not their highest priced, advanced filtration system and there are more expensive systems on the market. It would say it is at the low end of the reverse osmosis water filter countertop model price scale though. Read more
