This 4 piece set of drill bit extensions comes in 2, 4, 6 and 12" lengths. Each section has a magnetic, spring-loaded end which locks drill bits that have a 1/4" hexagonal base securely in place. Combining them, you have the following combinations; 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24" lengths. It will also work well with hex bits for screwing in hex head screws (for example, with hex head screws used for gutter hanger installation). Anyone who has tried to screw in gutter hangers knows that the drill head hits the front of the gutter, preventing a smooth installation at a proper angle. The 6 inch extension makes this operation go smoothly. Other uses are for recessed areas where the drill will not fit. A nice feature is the ability to quickly/easily change bits by simply pulling the red knob back, instead of having to unscrew the bit by turning the drill head off and on again for the new bit. These extensions are well made; the springs are strong, the shafts are steel with a black coating (paint?) which should prevent rusting, the tips are red. All-in-all, a very nice set with 12 different lengths from 2 to 24 inches of reach/length. Read more

I didn't need these often but for the first several times I used them, they were very handy and it seemed to hold the bits, even when pulling out a bit after drilling in. But then out of nowhere, the shaft on the 6 inch one stripped and came out. As you can see from the picture it's a soft metal just pressed in. There is no welding or soldering to hold it in, so at the first bit of higher torque it stripped. Just spins if I try to re-insert it. Well I kept using the short 2-inch one, but then the bit holder part itself stripped. I only used the longer one 4 or 5 times before the shaft came out. The short one I used a lot more for drill bits into pressure treated wood and screwdriver bits. At least 30 or 40 times. I could understand if a screwdriver or drill bit stripped - those are expendable. But the bit holder should be made of harder metal and the shaft should be soldered or welded in. Not recommended. Note that there is no warranty info for this product. (Of course this all happened a few days after the return window closed.) I tried contacting the seller, but the Amazon system wouldn't let me. its alright, the magnet isnt strong enough to apply to the bit for holding screws, one of the extensions came slightly bent but usable, overall decent as a backup pair or to clasp them together to get to a longer length Read more

This is one great set! The magnetic ring is especially handy for placing on the actual bit to maintain contact while driving. Far fewer dropped screws with the magnetic slide-on ring. Read more

I bought this set for one purpose but I think I’ll get a lot of use out of it. The locking mechanism is good and the magnets are strong. Other than giving it a cursory look, I haven’t tried it yet. Looking forward to using the longest one to reach where I can’t get my impact driver to drive in a bolt for a tankless water heater bracket. Read more
