Reliable Moisture Absorber

These silica gel beads change color clearly when saturated, making it easy to know when to recharge. The quart size provides plenty for multiple uses, and they work well for keeping storage areas dry. Read more

Bone dry and non-toxic!

I’ve been using the “Dry & Dry” Premium Orange Indicating Silica Gel Beads for a couple of months, primarily for drying 3D printer filament and keeping the air system on my compressor free of moisture. These beads perform incredibly well—they change from orange to dark green when they’ve absorbed enough moisture, making it easy to know when to reactivate or replace them. Reactivating the beads is super simple. I’ve placed them in the oven at 225°F for about an hour, and they come out as good as new. The convenience of recharging them instead of constantly buying new ones is a huge plus. However, given the price, they’re affordable enough to toss and replace if you don’t want the hassle of reactivation. The 8-pound jug is well-packaged and has an airtight seal to keep the beads fresh. The jug’s handle makes pouring out just what you need easy without spilling. The bead size is perfect for use in filament drying boxes or air compressor filters, and they’ve worked flawlessly in both applications for me. Regarding price, these silica gel beads are an excellent value. Whether you’re drying 3D printer filament, keeping tools rust-free, or maintaining an air compressor, they are a reliable and effective solution. I highly recommend them! Read more

Works fast and great

My old silica was from covid times and "renewed" several times already. The humidity for my dry box for filament was at 43%. This filament got the humidity down to 15% within 5 minutes and the next morning was at 6.4% which it has stayed there for several days now. I'm pretty impressed! Read more

Works very well but with a caution on reordering

The Dry & Dry Orange Indicating Silica Gel works very well for my application - keeping 3D printing filament dry. I fill small sachet bags with the silica gel and place them with my filament in sealed plastic containers, along with a small hydrometer in order to monitor the humidity levels over time. When it is time to recharge the silica gel, I simply place the bags into my dehydrator (modified to dry spools of filament). The gel turns a dark green/blue color when it is time to recharge, and a bright orange once dried. One thing to note: My purchase in November 2024 was for 1 gallon (8 lbs). When I went to reorder in August 2025, one gallon now contains 7.5 lbs. Obviously, the "1 gallon" designation refers to the size of the container and not to the volume of silica gel. The new price for the 7.5 lbs is a bit lower, but not proportionally lower based on weight. If you are reordering, best to go back to your original order and reorder - you may get the 8 lbs 1 gallon container. Read more

Inexpensive way to get better 3D prints!

I only print PLA, and we know moisture is not as big of a concern for PLA, but a jug of quality desiccant along with the perfect quick release spool storage that I printed will help ensure my PLA rolls stay as dry as possible for much longer than not using any desiccant at all. An extra step to get even better prints. 🙂👍 Best part, once moisture is absorbed overtime, the beads could easily be dried and reused. Read more
