Electric lighters are a modern, convenient alternative to traditional flame-based lighters. They typically operate using a rechargeable battery that generates a high-voltage arc or plasma to ignite objects such as cigarettes, candles, or cigars. One of the main advantages is their eco-friendliness—no need for butane or refills, just a quick charge when the battery runs low. They are also safer to handle since there's no open flame, reducing the risk of accidental fires. Many models feature windproof design, making them effective outdoors even in breezy conditions. Additionally, their sleek and compact construction makes them highly portable and stylish. On the downside, electric lighters require a battery charge, which can be inconvenient if drained unexpectedly, and some may have a limited lifespan of the internal components. Overall, they offer a practical, safe, and eco-conscious alternative to traditional lighters, best suited for those seeking a tech-savvy and reliable ignition device. Read more

Cheaply made, the charge on mine only lasted 10-15 min. and the 4 electrodes were all different lengths and were very flimsy. I do not recommend this item ! Read more

I picked this up for a recent weekend camping trip because I was tired of fighting with standard lighters every time the wind picked up. The dual arc technology is actually pretty impressive; it creates a consistent "X" of purple plasma that lights tinder or candle wicks almost instantly, even in a stiff breeze. The best part is the retractable neck. It’s flexible enough to reach deep into a grill or a half-burnt jar candle, so you aren't risking your fingertips like you do with a traditional thumb-flick lighter. The waterproof casing feels pretty rugged, and the locking clasp is a nice safety feature that keeps the lid from popping open in your pack. I also love that it’s USB-C rechargeable, meaning I can just top it off using my portable power bank while I’m off the grid. On the flip side, there are a few quirks to be aware of. When you ignite the arc, it does emit a high-pitched "squeal" that might be annoying if you have sensitive ears. Also, the battery life is fine for a weekend—the manual says about 35 ignitions—but if you’re using it constantly for a large group, you’ll definitely be reaching for the charger sooner than you’d think. The flexible neck can also feel a little delicate if you bend it too aggressively, so I’d recommend being gentle when extending it. Overall, it's a solid, eco-friendly tool for an emergency kit or a camping bin. Read more
