This company was awesome at making sure I was happy. 5 stars for customer service! And now a better dvd player Very loud. Made my dvds skip. It got stuck on, but showed the power as off, so I had to unhook the power and plug it back in for it to work. Definitely a waste of money. 2 stars because it did work occasionally. Read more

I recently bought the GOKUID DVD Player and I couldn't be happier with my purchase! My daughter is 8 years old and she definitely where s enjoys watching DVDs on her own in her room. so this was the perfect addition for her. The player is extremely lightweight and easy to move around, making it convenient for us. It was packaged well and arrived in perfect condition. Setting it up was a breeze, quick and simple. I was pleasantly surprised by the clarity of the picture when playing our older DVDs. The player comes with all the necessary cords and a remote that is easy to use. Considering the quality and ease of use, the price is very reasonable. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase and would definitely buy it again. It does work mostly well. I’ve tried a video that was in region PAL 2+4 I bought years ago and couldn’t play on my old dvd player, and it had no problems. I then payed a badly scratched dvd I purchased second hand of Evil dead the Musical. It played as if there were no scratches. I’ve been waiting years to see that one. I have not tried a blue-ray video yet. I’m hoping for the best why I get around to it. There is one big con though. The remote is caca. The light never comes on at all and frankly I thought it was just dead till I brought it an inch from the player and it actually responded, but not consistently. I’ll buy brand new batteries tomorrow and hope for the best but the batteries I put in were from an open package and unused, so I’m not counting on anything working any better. Read more

The media could not be loaded. I got this DVD player as an additional one to have for the kitchen tv - so far, so good. And perfect timing too, as you probably know physical media is making a comeback again as of late, with streaming co$ting more and more (and randomly dropping shows). DVDs are easy to find and quite cheap in many cases, though I had already amassed quite a collection over the years :) Anyways, this GOKUiD player checked all the boxes for me: 1.) Price is perfect for what it is at $30ish bucks. (I'd be leery of any cheaper ones than this based on personal experience) 2.) HDMI output - we've all pretty well moved on to smart TVs, but also still has the traditional red, yellow, white hookups if you are using a tube tv in a basement or something 3.) Simple (keep it simple!) - Clear eject button, clear buttons on remote, etc. Playback for the DVDs I've tested has all been smooth during the video part (finding the track can have a quick loudish noise, but every player I've had before is like that.) The unit is fairly light-weight, so depending on the surface you put it on, you might have to be careful of it sliding around. It has a thumb drive input, where you can view your own media (I suppose this would be useful for showing family home videos or slideshows) I did not personally test this feature, but nice to know it's there. Black color should blend in with most media and theatre system set-ups. But yeah, it's a dvd player, and it plays dvds, so I'd say if you want to get back into physical media, no need to look further than this one. The remote doesn’t work. But the player does. 🤷🏼‍♀️ My tv doesn’t have the 3 colored cords, so the hdmi worked well thankfully. Is pretty light and cheap, but it was $20 so you get what you pay for. Read more
