This is a sturdy device at a very reasonable price. It is easy to load and easy to use to dispense the medications. It has three sections for each day (am noon and pm) so if your family member takes pills four times a day you will need something else for the other times (which is what we did.) The user has to know what day and time it is to take the pills at the right time. This part is not automatic. My mother had a lot of trouble remembering that she had to skip 'noon' which we keep empty to get to pm. She's got that figured out now. The little sections are large enough for lots of pills including larger ones like glucosamine and vitamins. It does take a little organization and practice to fill it up correctly. If you drop a pill in the wrong slot you need some dexterity and a pair of tweezers to reach in and get it back out, otherwise you would have to go around and dispense all the other sections until you get to the error. One way to use it differently would be to have a label maker and relabel the sections. You could have 5 days at 4X per day, 7 days at 3X, 10 days at 2X or three weeks at 1X. Or for 2X per day, you could have one device for am and another for pm and only have to load them once every three weeks. I bought two of the devices so that I could load one when I had the time and then on Sunday night, just slot it into the bracket and have the other one empty and ready to load for the next week. I could get a label maker and try having am and pm in different devices but my mom got so confused about skipping noon that I'm worried what would happen if she had to decide which device to go to. I LOVE that I can look at the device and see if she took her pills. I don't have to ask her and get an answer that may or may not reflect reality. Unless she dispenses them and then puts them in her pocket instead of swallowing them which did happen (only once) lol. I do use it one day "off" from how it is meant to be used. The device is supposed to tell the patient that they did already take the pills for the day and time that shows in the window. That confused my mother. I load it one click past that, so what shows in the window is the NEXT dose due, not the one she has already taken. She looks at the device and sees that the next dose due is Tuesday pm so if it is Tuesday pm she goes ahead and dispenses it. After she dispenses Tuesday pm the window on front will say Wednesday am and she knows it is not time for that yet. Because of my using it as above, I did have to modify it. There is an empty slot that says LOAD. That appears after the Sunday pm dose is dispensed and cues you to load the device. I don't want to have to be loading it on Sunday pm (which is why I bought two devices) but because I have my mom's device set to tell her what dose is due NEXT the LOAD slot ends up holding the Sunday pm dose. The load slot has a plastic top on it so you don't accidently load that slot (it is supposed to be just a place holder) but I wanted to use it. I took a dremel tool and bored a pill size hole in the cover. Now I can use it in the way I want. This device is MUCH BETTER than pill boxes or trays. The patient does not have to open any little lids. The slots are large. The lever is easy to push. It is fun for the patient to hold a little cup under the device and push the lever. The caregiver/family member can easily see if the patient has taken the dose out of the device on time. IT IS GREAT!!! Read more

I bought this for a really good friend of mine who is in a wheelchair and has almost no hand dexterity. He used to have those little plastic weekly pill organizers with the square compartments. Well because he had to use his mouth to open it, it got dirty quickly which was not sanitary. This new pill organizer is amazing! Doesn’t require much strength at all so he’s able to push the lever and have his meds. ALOT EASIER than before! We placed it under the kitchen island so he can reach it. Its mounted with the world’s strongest double sided tape and its holding up (the pill dispenser isnt that heavy so the strong tape wasnt even that necessary but better safe than sorry)! Super grateful for this organizer. Made life easier. Read more

not the most beautiful thing in the world.... but absolutely works like a charm. I only take one set of pills a day while at home, the rest I take while at work, so I just filled each slot with my morning meds and use this as a 21 day dispenser. I love it, very easy to use, though occasionally my fish oil pills get stuck to the sides and I have to knock them loose. And if, God forbid, you drop a pill in the wrong slot when we loading, getting it out is a challenge. But still 5 stars for good quality and convenience. all moving parts work well and do not feel flimsy. Read more

I purchased this for my Mom who was having a little trouble with her old flip top weekly dispenser. She suffered a stroke and is having some memory and cognitive issues. She confused days and doses with her old dispenser. Not only that she was quite annoyed with the all the noise making reminders I had set for her on her cell phone etc. She doesn't really have trouble remembering she has to take her meds twice a day, she was just getting confused which flip top to take. So this dispenser is great. Completely manual, no noise, no lights, no cell phone reminder. Just push the lever and the pills fall out into a glass. The individual slots are pretty big and seem to hold a lot. She has six in one slot with no problem. My only complaint is once in a great while they stick. I just tell her to make sure the hole is empty, which you can do because the dispensing window is clear. This is set up for Morning, Afternoon and Evening dispensing and there is no way to change that. You have to adapt. Like another person reviewing this, I considered using my label maker and just relabeling the carriage. I did not do that. I simply told my Mom to ignore the day on the window. That works for us because she only has to take her medication twice daily. Morning and evening. So I fill every slot ignoring the pre labeled day and she knows to just take what comes out next. I have taken a photo of her meds. One showing her morning meds and one showing her evening meds. She knows she takes 6 in the morning and 3 at bedtime. If she is wondering if what she is taking is correct she just looks at the page I created with the pictures on it. If there are not 6 in her glass in the morning one may have gotten stuck and she checks it against the picture. Anyway the device is very reliable, no batteries to depend on and it works manually. If you need meds 3 times a day it will be perfectly labeled for you. Read more

I’ve owned and used these for years. I’m on my third one. This dispenser is not as “accurate” as previous dispensers. This one doesn’t index accurately and pills “leak” from one section to the next. Check each dispensing for accuracy. IT CAN’T BE TRUSTED ANYMORE! Read more

The item was exactly as described Works perfectly Keep in mind when ordering, but this is meant to be mounted to the bottom of the shelf, the cartridge slides out to easily refill your meds. I would definitely recommend it Read more
