The section of these earplugs that is inserted into the ear has exactly the same design and the same soft silicone material as IEM's (see photo comparison of ear plug on left with in-ear monitor on right). They come in a nice case with three extra sizes, so you're assured of finding a comfortable fit. They look great in the ear… A nice matte black with a low profile ring for easy removal. They are pleasant to use when resting or sleeping because you don't feel them and they are not easily dislodged. But where they fall apart for me is in their noise reduction ability. The listing states that they reduce noise by 30 db. I don't have a decibel meter so I certainly can't test it, but to my ears at least, they are nowhere near that. My foam earplugs, which are rated around 32 db reduction, are vastly better at noise reduction. Perhaps for some reason, I can't get a good seal...but I tried every size eartip, with the same result. As much as I love the comfort and style of these, when I wear earplugs it's for one reason: to block sound...and these don't do it well. Read more
