I opted for a glass office mat because I've had so many bad experiences with plastic ones breaking. Even though its glass, its very sturdy and easy to clean. It looks a million times nicer than the cheap thin mats and has no problem holding my weight or my partners weight. Its holding up amazingly well and I'm slowly getting over the anxiety of it breaking. Love that my chair easily glides across the surface and it isn't slippery what so ever. Read more
I had a long career in the field of education. So I tend to "grade" products that I purchase. In this case, I would say the tempered glass chair mat deserves an A+. I have a large room with 2 desk areas. I recently had new wall-to-wall thick carpeting installed over a new thick foam underlayment. Very comfortable to walk on. But...both office chairs with wheels basically wouldn't move. I literally had to get out of the chair to place the chair where I wanted and then awkwardly slide into the chair. Very annoying. Logged onto Amazon and discovered tempered glass mats. Frankly, I was a bit concerned about the safety of glass, and didn't really even know what "tempered" meant. However...after doing a little research to educate myself, I decided to order one of these mats. Right decision! I was amazed at how easily it was to get in and out of the chair, with effortless movement. In addition, when I discovered that the extremely well packaged mat was shipped from California to my residence in the state of Maine...and arrived without even a small scratch...I was impressed. After using the mat for a little more than a week of use, I ordered another one for my other desk. And the price was reasonable. I would recommend this product to anyone who has a thick carpet situation in their desk area. Also, the mats look classy atop the carpeting. I like the effect of the gray glass, through which you can easily see the carpeting, but also easily see the perimeter of the mat. The desk chairs move so easily, that I now know how little movement is required (to avoid rolling off the mat.) Also: I had posed an online question to the seller prior to ordering, and received a fairly quick response. Impressive. One of the best purchases I've made in quite awhile. Read more
I’ll be honest-I was against getting this for my husband but he insisted. It arrived well packed and there was no chance it was going to break during shipping. It was easy to maneuver into place, and after several months still looks brand new. The office chair on it is extra large, and hubby is a big guy-not a scratch or sign of breaking. The best part is that it is cheaper than others out there and adds a professional look to your business! Read more

Packaged well and arrived quickly. Measurements are a little short (35 1/4" x 45 1/4"). Very nice surface to roll an office chair on. Very reasonable price. I have it over a fairly thick rug, and it works great. I just got it today. Read more
My chair now moves so much easier than on the carpet. The mat is very solid - no problem holding my weight. Be aware though - it weighs almost 50 pounds and is big enough to be awkward, especially if you have to get it up stairs (in hindsight I should have waited for a friend to help...I did get it upstairs by myself - barely.) I was a little carefull at when first using this, because it's glass and out carpet/padding is thick, but it has been great. It does flex slightly, if you walk onto the very corner of it when approaching the chair, but other than that it's VERY solid. Over the past few years of working from home, I bought 2 of the higher end thick, plastic mat's to keep my chair stable and my carpet undamaged. But over time, I found with temperature swings, that the plastic would grow a memory to where the wheels were placed while I'm working. So then you feel this awkward thud of your chair getting stuck in specific places. With this being glass, all of that went away. This glass mat came packaged very well, and we had no issues with damage during shipping. There is a bit of an adjustment period since my chair always had a little bit of friction and this glass surface allows for frictionless rolling. I also do find that I clean it more frequently than the legacy plastic rollers since the dirt and dust are more visible on glass, but it's a fair trade off. I'm 6ft tall and about 225, and I have no concerns about the strength of this product, and also feel like this 46"x55" has a lot of room for movement. 10/10 would recommend to anyone with thicker carpet.
