We were using a kitchen table & chairs from the big outfit out of Arkansas until a weld on 1 of the chairs broke. we shopped around for a new kitchen set both locally and online and decided on this one. First off, we ordered it on a Thursday night and it arrived on our front porch early Saturday morning, 9 days before the promised delivery date! It was well packaged & not a single piece damaged plus all screws/bolts were there. Attaching the legs to the table and legs & seat to the chairs was quite simple. I only glanced at the chair instructions once because there were 3 different size bolts & I wanted to clarify which went where. Each chair has a total of 10 bolts which makes it pretty sturdy. The vinyl covered seats are easy on your bottom side too. Also, the 12" "butterfly" leaf is nice. Normally the table seats 4 but if you need extra room, you can pull out the self-storing leaf and make it long enough to seat 6 if needed. That will be handy for us when we host Thanksgiving at our house for the whole family. This set is solid wood with no MDF & veneers. The table-top actually has a butcher-block pattern even though it does not say so in the product description. The product description does say, "kitchen set which constructed of all Asian Hardwood". After researching this, I found that they are using the wood from rubber trees for the furniture. Apparently, the rubber trees quit producing after 20-30 years so instead of just cutting them down and disposing of them, furniture makers have started using the wood for their moderately priced furniture. The only drawback I can see using any type of solid wood is that it may scratch or dent easily. For example, don't let your 4th grader do their math homework at the kitchen table without something under their paper or else you may end up with a permanent reminder of said homework etched into the table top. This is not faulting the quality of the wood in no way since I had the same thing happen with a solid oak coffee table that had my daughter's name & some other writing permanently etched into it. My research says it's about the same hardness as Maple. All-in-all, we are very pleased with this kitchen set so far. Only time will tell if it will hold up over a long period but I am confident that it will. It seems quite heavy and sturdy for the price. Amazon continues to find the best in providers of quality, durable products. In the past, I have found that the items shown, and descriptions, are accurate. There is no hype, no outlandish claims; very simply, a nice compact dining room table and six well constructed, comfortable chairs. The finish on all the set would rival any major brand at five times the cost. This set is solid wood, not a thin veneer with particle board. In years past, I have been led to believe that price may indicate quality... no longer; it is knowledge, reliability of the vendor or agent such as Amazon that presents a very forthright description and that is what you get. In this case of the table and chairs, far beyond expectations. Easy to assemble, excellent delivery arrangement, and a set that many of our friends have given high praise. Great buy! My MiL wanted a smaller table set for her 55+ condo. This fits the bill. Looks great. Nice wide seat. She went the wood seat route as she has her own cushions. Only reason for them not being 5-star is that one chair has a terrible wobble. One leg is 1/4" off from the other 3. Fine on carpet, but on the hardwood floor...wobble. Hoping an extra slide pad on one leg solves the problem. For the price, they are hard to beat. Delivery sucked. FEDEX just dumped the boxes in the yard. No attempt bring them up the driveway or ring the doorbell. Didn't even dump them where I could see them from the doorbell cam. Read more

I am absolutely in love with this set! It came one week ahead of schedule and I was anxious to assemble everything. Don't make MY mistake! I tried to use the wrong bolt for the front legs and it split the wood. Customer service was awesome! They sent me a replacement right away! I cannot believe how easy it really was to assemble (once I used the correct bolts). The sturdiness of the chairs is wonderful. I love that it is all REAL wood and so comfortable.
