I purchased these to wear with a costume for a gala 50s event, but they are so comfortable, I know I will wear them for casual wear. I usually wear an 8 1/2; occasionally a 9, and I sized up to the 9 based on other reviews and they fit perfectly. I have tricky feet, and I need good quality, soles and insoles, so I paid extra for this brand. I think that they are worth the extra cost. These shoes are great. I'd been wondering if they still made saddle shoes like I wore in high school in the '50s--and yay, they do! Eastland shoes are generally good anyhow. These are the most comfortable shoes in my closet (they are never in my closet because they are always on my feet) and absolutely worth the money. I needed s shoe horn the first 2 times, but now they slip right on. And no need to break them in, just a walk around the block will do it. True to size. I thought about getting wide, but there's no need, these are plenty roomy. I doubt they'll wear out, but if they do, I'll certainly order another pair. They make me feel like a teenager again! I have flat feet, slightly wide beccause of no arch, but not overly so. I usually wear a size 6.5 in shoes, slightly smaller if the brand runs big. I ordered this in 6.5 wide and the fit is absolutely perfect, I couldn't imagine a shoemaker with exact measurements making a better shoe for my foot. The media could not be loaded. These are amazing shoes! I’d been looking for for a new pair of oxfords that I could swing dance in that were comfortable, cute, and lightweight. I also needed the sole to be flexible enough to execute complicated footwork and these fit the bill on EVERY level. I am a 6 1/2 with wide feet and I ordered the 7’s. They were a little snug width wise initially, but after I sueded them and took them for a night of dancing, they fit perfectly. I have a narrow heel so my heel does slip up a bit, but it’s not even close to coming out of the shoe and the issue is so minor it wasn’t even worth putting in heel grips. I did try that and I didn’t mind the feel when walking, but they felt too snug when dancing. I tried to include a short clip of my doing a Shag basic so you can see how easy they are to dance in,but I’ve never uploaded a video on here before so who knows if it will work?!🤷🏾♀️ The only issue I really had with these is that there was some damage on the side of the shoe. Unfortunately I didn’t notice the damage until after I sueded them and I couldn’t return them so I’m a little peeved that there seems to be some quality control issues, hence taking off a star. For $85 , I do expect my shoes to be perfect before I put them on my feet.🧐 That said,I’m definitely going to buy another pair because they are 5 star dance shoes. I do wish they had them in navy and white in my size, but the company seems to be completely out of that size *I LITERALLY scoured the whooooole internet searching for them*so I bought another pair in black and white. I’ll make sure to scrutinize them with a fine toothed comb before I suede them this time though! I definitely think they are worth the money and the black and white ones are around $56 on Amazon which is much cheaper than they are on the company website so I’d snap those up before they increase in price! I love these black and white saddle oxfords! I sent an email to Sketchers about 10 yrs ago asking if they would consider making a comfortable pair. They emailed me back that they weren’t interested at that time. I have looked ever since but could not find any or they weren’t comfortable. These are so comfortable right out of the box! Soft all around your foot and a good foam inside bottom of the shoe. No break-in period. My size of 8-1/2 fits perfect. Thanks so much Eastland! I finally got what I have been searching for. I wore this style in high school, my sister recently ordered a pair and loves them so I tried one pair, then I ordered another, and now my third pair, different colors of course, I just love these and wear them every day. I get a lot of compliments about being retro and very cute. Truthfully I had broken my ankle and this is the only shoe that looks great and holds my foot steady. These "saddle shoes" are exactly what I needed to complete my 50s outfit. I have trouble with my large feet due to a bunion & hammertoe!
