These shoes are great.

I work for USPS and have to wear a protective type of shoe. I found a no slip brand that I loved but the place I bought them from closed and I could not find the brand in my size any where. So I started trying to find a shoe that worked for me. I tried several brands but none fit right. UNTIL I found Eastland shoes. The shoe is true to size though I do but the wide because my toes like to have extra room! The sole is thick and doesn't wear down. They have good arch support and the whole shoe inside has cushion. They are tie shoes which I have to have for work but I can make them as tight as I like, or as loose! I am on my feet standing or walking most of 8 hours a day. These shoes are comfortable and don't rub or cause blisters. If you need a good working, walking shoe, this is the one for you. Read more

Great Shoe and Lightweight

I have always liked the male-inspired, rugged look when it comes to weekend wear in women's shoes; and have owned similar shoes in other brands such as Rockport, Timberland, Joseph Siebel, and Keen shoes, but I had never owned an Eastland pair and didn't know much about the quality or comfort of this brand. I was pretty surprised at how lightweight this shoe is and it's quality. It has great stitching and feels true to size, comfortable, and is warm. This shoe looks great with jeans and plaid flannel shirts. I'd also like to mention that I have narrow feet and small ankles so I was concerned that this pair might look bulky or that the pair would feel really loose causing me to clomp, clomp, clomp with every step as I have in the past with other shoes that don't fit well, are not snug enough to hold my foot in place, or that feel too heavy. When compared with the brands mentioned above, I'd like to say that it is closest in comparison to a laced Rockport pair of shoes I owned several years ago, but this one is by far the lighter of all shoes I've owned when it comes to weight. This is absolutely a very comfortable shoe and I recommend it. Read more

Size up and out!

My daughter wears a size 6 in these shoes so I bought a 6 originally. They were too tight and made her feet swell up. I returned them, sized up and got a wide width. Now they fit her great. The shoe is well made but be sure you size up a half size and get wide width. My daughter does not have wide feet but she needed it for this shoe. The shoes passed uniform inspection at her school so all is good there and she has happy feet that are not swollen and crammed into a too small shoe. Size up and get wide width! Read more

good work shoes, but don't last.

My foot is narrow, but I usually buy medium width shoes. I took the advice here & ordered a wide & they fit perfectly, although I did put a liner in the shoe. My first pair of Eastland Plainviews I bought at Penneys a few years ago, and I wore them when cleaning out my parent's estate, including my dad's dirty, oily garage. The soles on these shoes are not oil-resistant, and the greasy oil destroyed the soles. Just ate away the outer layer, peeled it right off, and kept going. So they may be comfortable work shoes, but not if you work around oil. Update: I've worn these shoes for yard work when the weather is dry (because I haven't been able to make them waterproof. The leather is worn & wrinkled, but still supple. PROBLEM: The soles split from side to side on both shoes, in the ball of the foot area. I thought I had years more use from these shoes. NOT! The molded plastic soles are very poor quality (see my previous post above), and I will NOT buy Eastland shoes again. Read more

Comfortable right out of the box

These were comfortable as soon as I put them on. They are a bit stiff, but that did not affect how comfortable they are. I ordered the brownish/tanish ones. The color is a little weird in natural light but I still like them. There is little to no arch support though. They are very supportive and my feet felt sturdy. I normally wear a size 6m, but I sized up based upon the reviews. I ordered a 6 1/2 Wide although I do not have wide feet. They fit perfectly. I would have given 5 stars, but due to the color and the lack of arch support I dropped it down. But that being said... it's still a great shoe. I have no regrets. Read more

Great price

My daughter requires this shoe. We originally purchased them from a uniform store and paid over $120. I later found them on Amazon and returned them to the uniform store. She has worn them for 2 months and so far they are holding up very well. They look great with her uniform. She says they are very comfortable. The leather was not stiff, so did not cause blisters. I would size up as they seem to run a little small. Read more

Way to small.

I have small narrow feet, normally wear a 5.5 or 6, wanted to wear with bulky socks so ordered 6.5 I was able to get my right foot in wearing a peds, the left foot on the other hand I was not able to slide in at all. Shoe uppers are very stiff. The bottom I thought would be more rubbery but they are rigid as well almost like hard plastic, I was concerned that you could slip on wet or icy pavement. I really wanted to love these shoes as I had something similar that were quite comfortable and a little flexible. These look nice but are super tight. I did also order a size 7 after I read some of the reviews saying they were tight and they too were just as narrow as the 6.5 just a little longer in the toe and heel area. For those that want to know if you can take out insole to replace with orthotics, yes you can. As for having the shoe stretched , I didn’t want to go to all the fuss and still have a very stiff shoe that needed to be broken in. My other shoes didn’t have to have that done to them, they were comfortable from the beginning. The size 6.5 arrived without plastic baggies covering each shoe, I didn’t find that a problem until I saw that the size 7’s were expertly wrapped and bagged, meaning that I must have received a returned item. Don’t mind that considering you are purchasing an online product. Just putting it out there after all this is a review. Would like to try a 6.5 wide but they are not available at this time.
