Excellent from the First Run - The FCX24M Defender 110 is a Must-Buy! ​I've been in the mini-crawler hobby for a while, and the FMS FCX24M Defender 110 is by far the most capable and impressive rig I've ever driven right out of the box. From the moment I took it out of the packaging, the build quality and attention to detail were obvious. ​FMS has truly set a new standard here. The two-speed transmission is a game-changer, giving you the low-end torque for technical crawling and the high-speed bursts to get over obstacles or just have fun on the trail. The metal gears in the axles are a huge relief, giving me confidence that the drivetrain can handle whatever I throw at it without needing an immediate upgrade. ​The scale realism is phenomenal. The hard body, detailed interior, and working lights are next level and make it a joy to look at, not just to drive. But what really surprised me was its out-of-the-box crawling performance. It handles inclines, side-hilling, and tricky rock gardens with an ease that honestly puts other popular models to shame. ​Of course, this being an RC, the upgrades are already underway! I've got my eye on a brass skid plate and a new set of sticky tires to take the performance to the next level. But the fact that I'm upgrading for fun and not to fix a weakness says everything. Completely exceeded my expectations. As soon as I took it out of the box, I could tell this was an amazing piece for any RC collection. The scale details look fantastic, and the licensed Land Rover body gives it a premium feel that stands out on the shelf and on the trail. ✈️ Flyability / Drive Performance The flyability; meaning how it handles, responds, and performs, feels absolutely top‑tier for a 1/24 crawler. The two‑speed transmission is smooth and gives you great control whether you want slow crawling or a faster trail run. Steering and throttle are fully responsive, and the radio range is honestly impressive. There’s zero noticeable latency, and it easily outperforms the range of many larger, more expensive RC trucks. It feels confident, stable, and fun to drive in any small‑scale terrain. ✅ Pros - Amazing collector piece with a beautiful licensed Land Rover body - Two‑speed transmission for both crawling and trail driving - Full steering and throttle control with smooth, precise response - Excellent radio range with no lag or dropouts - Roomy battery tray, allowing you to upgrade to a larger battery (I purchased bigger ones and they fit great) - RTR and beginner‑friendly, but still fun for experienced hobbyists ⚠️ Cons (but easy to fix) - No top lights included, but you can add your own—actually a fun mod - No rear lights, but again, easy to install if you enjoy customizing - Stock battery is fine, but upgrading to a bigger one is recommended (and the tray has space for it) ⭐ Overall This is an incredible mini crawler with excellent performance and beautiful scale looks. This was my second purchase of a 1/24th scale crawler and this one was silky smooth. The overall build is solid and very detailed inside and out. The controller feels good in your hand and again giving smooth control over the crawler. I would say the only thing I did not care for was the super bright green light on the controller. It is so bright I have to cover it up when using. But not worth knocking any stars off just for that. I definitely will buying more from FMS. The company did a great job with this one. 1/24th scale is just as much fun as the larger 1/10 scale especially when you want to create your own course indoors. Read more

It’s really nice, the only problem I had was the steering servo died in about five minutes! But ordered a new one (planed on upgrading it anyway). It’s super fast compared to the Scx24s I have. Nice body would recommend Read more

10/10 super fun little rc. Looks cool too. Made a few upgrades for $40 that made a huge difference in capability and look. Seems pretty durable so far even with heavier brass wheels. I’ve been beating this thing up for a solid 3 hours now and nothing has broke yet. Read more

Solid, very detailed scale crawler that actually looks like the real thing and is very capable out of the box. Two speed transmission, metal gears, and excellent slow crawling.
